Pierwszym celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie podstawowych zagadnień związanych z zarządzaniem siecią bankomatową w Polsce oraz wskazanie na problemy na jakie w tym procesie napotykają operatorzy i właściciele sieci. Drugi cel pracy to zebranie i zaprezentowanie dotychczasowych wyników prac (głównie obcojęzycznych) poruszający zagadnienia związane z zarządzaniem siecią bankomatów, a w szczególności zarządzaniem gotówką w sieci bankomatowej.(fragment tekstu)

The paper presents the basic issues related with the management of ATM networks. In particular, the structure of the ATM market as well as the process of delivering and loading cash from/out of a cash machine were described. Information on the cost of handling cash machine was also presented. Special attention was paid to one of the fundamental problems in the process of delivering cash to ATMs, which is the issue of appropriate forecasting of the size of the withdrawals from ATM. A key element of the paper is to collect and present the work and articles dedicated to the issues directly or indirectly related with the management of the network of ATMs. Some of the issues have a clear reference to the activities and operation of the largest ATM network in Poland operated by the Euronet company.(original abstract)
