Very intensive increase the number of registered passenger cars in Poland , as well as their age structure , in which a significant share of the vehicles are old and worn, contributing to the annual increase in the number of end of life vehicles. The problem of recycling of cars in Poland is a hot issue for economic, environmental and security. The average life cycle of a passenger car in the country ranges from 12 to 15 years. Cars that have reached this limit , they are very desirable raw material for the industry widely associated with the activities aimed at the recovery and recycling. Number of cars on Polish roads from year to year increases, but the rate of growth observed over the past decade is unique. The data in the article suggest that in the near future a large group of cars will be withdrawn from use and suitable for recycling. The purpose of this article is to determine the likely number of cars taken out of service and dismantled subjects.
Since joining the EU, Poland is breaking records in the import of second-hand cars. Most often imported to Poland cars come from Germany and there is a little evidence to change this trend (even announced an increase in imports from the United Kingdom). The statistics also dominated by German car manufacturers. The top five most imported brands in order, Volkswagen, Opel, Renault, Audi, Ford. Record was in 2008, when the Poles brought more than 1.1 million cars.
