The subject of the article concerns the situation of doctoral students trained in the context of an institutionalized system of higher education. The academic ethos has been offered for sale, and has become another educational service used for different interests. The metaphor of “gaps” that I introduce in the article describes well the unprivileged position of the young people entering the world of science. I try to identify the “gaps” and the “tensions” disintegrating the existing order, in which the traditional ethos of commitments is eroded by the new system of claims. The university tied up with formal regulations creates a new environment where everything: the role of mentors, the relationships, and the position of doctoral students change signifcantly. I choose hermeneutic to analyze the framework education programs, and to try to answer the question: What goals are implemented and what effects of the training of doctoral students emerge from the interpretation of the source material? I refer also to qualitative data (interviews with university students) which shows the evolution of the youth’s attitudes to their own role and place in the world of scholars.

Zjawisko tworzenia klas patronackich nie jest wyłącznie domeną zachodnich ośrodków edukacyjnych. Obserwujmy je również w polskich szkołach. Niektóre z instytucji obejmują patronatem nie tylko pojedyncze klasy, lecz także całe gimnazja, licea. Przykładem tego typu placówki oświatowej jest Zespół Szkół Akademickich Politechniki Wrocławskiej włączony w struktury Politechniki Wrocławskiej. Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu zaprezentowanie ZSAPWr oraz przybliżenie zjawiska szkół patronackich. Przedstawiono w nim proces powstania szkoły wraz z jej krótką historią. Ponadto wskazano na bogate wyposażenie dydaktyczne szkoły i wyróżniono najistotniejsze dla misji placówki przedmioty objęte programem nauczania. Niniejszy tekst uwzględnia ofertę zajęć dodatkowych oraz formy aktywności pozalekcyjnych w całości procesu kształcenia ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem poziomu ponadgimnazjalnego. Autorzy akcentują silne związki między ZSAPWr a Politechniką Wrocławską. Istotną kwestią pozostaje akademickość szkoły jako główne kryterium analityczne. Pod tym kątem zbadano rzeczywisty poziom oddziaływania instytucji patronackiej na strukturę oraz środowisko Zespołu Szkół Akademickich Politechniki Wrocławskiej.

The idea of patron classes is used not only in Western schools. It is utilized also in Polish facilities. Some companies do not take care of just single classes, but also whole schools. The Academic School Complex at the Wroclaw University of Technology is an example of such a facility. This article summarises the history of ASC, its mission, and also, implicitly, the idea of patron schools and how they work. In order to show these aspects, the beginning will cover the educational inventory and the most important subjects taught in this school. The summary also contains the list of optional classes and describes the importance/role of after-school activities in educating young people. These topics are added in order to describe ASC as accurately as possible. There is also a brief analysis of the relationship between the ASC and the University, according to empirically gathered knowledge. The influence this relationship has on the school and its was checked in keeping with the “academicism” of the school as the main analysis factor.

Analizę teoretyczną osadzono w filozoficznych podstawach europejskiej kultury, filozofii greckiej, łacińskiej tradycji akademickiej oraz współczesnych przeobrażeń cywilizacyjnych i kulturowych.

In article presents the relations between categories of pedagogy as master and achieving mastery, teacher and teaching, educator and educating further generation of people. The theoretical analysis is embedded on philosophical rudiments of the European culture, Greek philosophy, the Latin academic traditions and contemporary culture and civilisational transformations.
