Comparable bilingual texts are representative for various fields of handicrafts. To meet the needs of writing bilingual dictionaries for the training of professionals, we propose a method of analysis from the Polish and French texts in the field of bakery. The purpose of this analysis is to establish equivalent units to be operated in the applied natural language processing and used for translation, for contrastive analysis and for drafting Polish-French dictionaries. In the first part of this paper, we explain how equivalent units are used in the automatic processing of comparable texts. In the following sections we present the design of cognitive script, the conceptual framework and predicates applied to the extraction of lexical units and we try to highlight significant relationships between them (meronymy and hyponymy).

Teksty porównywalne są reprezentatywne dla różnych dziedzin rzemiosła. Wobec zapotrzebowania na dwujęzyczne słowniki z tych dziedzin w kształceniu specjalistów, zaproponowana została w tym artykule metoda analizy na przykładzie polskich i francuskich tekstów z dziedziny piekarstwa. Celem tej analizy jest ustalenie jednostek ekwiwalentnych, które będą zastosowane w językoznawstwie komputerowym na potrzeby w zakresie tłumaczeń, analiz kontrastywnych oraz tworzenia słowników polsko-francuskich. W pierwszej części wyjaśnione są jednostki ekwiwalentne stosowane w językoznawstwie komputerowym, a w następnych koncepcja skryptu poznawczego, ram konceptualnych oraz predykatów zastosowana do ekstrakcji jednostek leksykalnych oraz określenia ich relacji znaczeniowych (meronimia i hiponimia).

Les textes bilingues comparables sont représentatifs pour différents domaines de l’artisanat. Pour répondre aux besoins de la rédaction de dictionnaires bilingues pour la formation des professionnels, nous proposons dans cet article une méthode d’analyse à partir de textes polonais et français du domaine de la boulangerie. Le but de cette analyse est d’établir des unités équivalentes qui seront exploitées et appliquées dans le traitement automatique des langues et qui serviront pour la traduction, pour les analyses contrastives et pour la rédaction des dictionnaires polonais-français. Dans la première partie de l’article nous expliquons d’abord les unités équivalentes utilisées dans le traitement automatique de textes comparables. Dans les parties suivantes nous présentons la conception du script cognitif, du cadre conceptuel et des prédicats appliquée pour l’extraction des unités lexicales et pour déterminer les relations significatives entre elles (méronymie et hyponymie).

What are expressions of absolute gradation in the mystical speech and how should they be translated? To answer this question, we will first give the definition of gradation that includes implicit comparison and intensity. As intensity is inseparable from mystical experience, it also marks the mystical speech. To grasp the specificity of the linguistic sign in a mystical catholic speech we will present the mystical experience which is a precise reference to the linguistic sign. It is in this context that we will analyze the expressions of absolute gradation, namely the superlative forms of adjectives and adjectives with prefixes marking a “beyond” of the boundaries of a scale of values. The analysis will be conducted on the examples of the original text and of the translated text in order to show difficulties of a mystic in expressing his/her mystical experience and the difficulties of the translator trying to render the emotion and the beauty of the mystical language.

Aby opisać wyrażenia gradacyjne w dyskursie mistycznym, Autorki podają wpierw definicję gradacji, która zawiera porównanie implicytne i intensywność. Intensywność, nierozerwalnie złączona z doświadczeniem mistycznym, jest obecna w dyskursie mistycznym i stanowi odniesienie znaku językowego. Specyfika tego znaku w dyskursie mistyków katolickich badana jest od początku XX wieku. W tym kontekście zostaną poddane analizie wyrażenia gradacyjne stopnia absolutnego za pomocą stopnia najwyższego przymiotników oraz przymiotników z prefiksami o znaczeniu „poza” granice danej skali wartości. Analiza dotyczy przykładów z tekstu oryginalnego (język polski) i tekstu tłumaczonego (język francuski), aby pokazać trudności mistyka w wyrażeniu swego doświadczenia mistycznego oraz trudności tłumacza, który stara się oddać w tłumaczonym tekście wzruszenia i piękno języka mistyka.

Quelles sont les expressions de la gradation absolue dans un discours mystique et comment les traduire? Pour répondre à cette question, nous allons d’abord donner la définition de la gradation qui englobe la comparaison implicite et l’intensité. L’intensité s’avère être inséparable de l’expérience mystique, par conséquent le discours des mystiques est marqué par les expressions de l’intensité. Pour saisir la spécificité du signe linguistique dans un discours mystique catholique, étudié dès le début du XXe siècle, nous présenterons l’expérience mystique qui constitue une référence spécifique du signe linguistique. C’est dans ce cadre que nous analyserons les expressions de la gradation absolue par le superlatif des adjectifs et par les adjectifs avec des préfixes marquant un « au-delà » des bornes d’une échelle des valeurs. L’analyse sera menée sur les exemples du texte original et du texte traduit afin de montrer les difficultés du mystique pour exprimer son expérience mystique et les difficultés du traducteur qui s’efforce de rendre dans le texte traduit l’émotion et la beauté du langage du mystique.
