During years 1944 to 1956 the communist repression apparatus has kept under surveillance every aspect of civilian life of Przeworsk’s community. There were not people, professions or business entities which could stay out of interest of. Special attention was directed to people who were connected with former Polish Armed Forces on the West and military structures which acted in occupied Poland (f. e. Homeland Army). In the area of interest communist’s security services added inhabitants of Przeworsk city who had private connections with foreigners, listened west radio broadcast or stated negative opinions about communist’s party. Also economic problems in the Przeworsk’s nationalized industry were assessed as planned by enemies of communist system and in order to weaken socialist economy. However, analysis of the documents which were made by communist repression apparatus stated that inhabitants of Przeworsk were not connected with the alleged activity of foreigner intelligence services or harmed city nationalized industry.

Settled a/er the “Vistula” Operation in Ziemia Lubuska, the Ukrainian population was supervised by the communist security apparatus. All displaced people were subjected to surveillance, irrespective of the degree of loyalty to the new authority. Operational work on Ukrainians was conducted with varying intensity throughout all the period of the People’s Republic of Poland. e actions taken were not only aimed at “neutralizing” anti-systemic behavior but also accelerating the integration and assimilation processes. The repression of the Ukrainian population, the reduction of contacts with the compatriots abroad, and the paralysis of social and religious activity were to become effective means of accelerating the loss of national, cultural and religious diversity.

Osiedlona po akcji „Wisła” na Ziemi Lubuskiej ludność ukraińska poddana została nadzorowi przez komunistyczny aparat bezpieczeństwa. Inwigilowano wszystkich przesiedleńców, bez względu na wykazywany stopień lojalności wobec nowej władzy. Praca operacyjna wobec Ukraińców była prowadzona z różnym natężeniem w całym okresie Polski Ludowej. Podejmowane działania miały na celu nie tylko „zneutralizować” zachowania antysystemowe, ale też przyspieszyć procesy integracyjne i asymilacyjne. Represjonowanie ludności ukraińskiej, ograniczenie kontaktów z rodakami za granicą, a także paraliżowanie działalności społecznej i religijnej miało stać się skutecznym środkiem przyspieszającym utratę odrębności narodowej, kulturowej i wyznaniowej.

Referring to the category of an educational apparatus regarding Michel Foucault’s works in the text I pose a question on his non-discursive elements. Firstly, I pay attention to the authority relations in the modern and post-disciplinary society. Then, I put forward the understanding of the apparatus as developed by me, with a particular emphasis on materiality as one of its important elements. Finally, I ask a question on pedagogical knowledge/power of things.

W tekście odwołując się do rekonstruowanej przeze mnie w odniesieniu do prac Michela Foucaulta kategorii urządzenia edukacyjnego stawiam problem jego niedyskursywnych elementów. W pierwszej kolejności zwracam uwagę na relacje władzy we współczesnym, postdyscyplinarnym społeczeństwie. Następnie, proponuję rozwijane przeze mnie rozumienie urządzenia, podkreślając zwłaszcza materialność jako jeden z jego ważnych elementów. W końcu, stawiam pytania o pedagogiczną wiedzę/władzę rzeczy.
