The suffixes in variations of personal names that used to identify a person in one local community and were “tied” to a particular carrier have been analyzed in the article. The author also found many variants created using formants, which were added to the full and truncated word creating bases. These suffixes may be added to appellatives as well as to proper names.

The aim of this article is to analyse common nouns denoting people, animals and objects that occur in the Western Polissian dialects of the Ukrainian language and which are identical with personal names (first names) and/or their variations. It was found that some of these appellatives originate from the names of specific persons, gaining general popular use as such through certain (usually negative) character traits of that person. Other very popular and widely used names are given to beloved animals, while a less significant number of appellatives evolved through the process of folk etymology, when words of foreign origin were similar to real personal names.

The text is devoted to the oral poetry by Kaśka spod Łysicy – Katarzyna Zaborowska from Wilków, Świętokrzyskie Region. Linguistic-culturological reflection concerns the onyms (toponyms, microtoponyms, oronyms, antroponyms), appellatives and dialect and subdialect distinctive features. An insightful interpretation of these complementary elements permitted to determine the specific features of the idiolect of the forgotten poet.

Tekst dotyczy poezji niepiśmiennej, pochodzącej z Wilkowa na Ziemi Świętokrzysko-Kieleckiej, Kaśki spod Łysicy – Katarzyny Zaborowskiej. Lingwistyczno-kulturologiczną refleksją objęte zostały utrwalone w poszczególnych lirykach, charakterystyczne dla tego obszaru, onimy (toponimy, mikrotoponimy, oronimy, antroponimy), apelatywy oraz wyróżniki gwarowo-dialektalne. Wnikliwa interpretacja owych uzupełniających się elementów umożliwiła ustalenie cech specyficznych dla idiolektu zapomnianej dziś, tworzącej w „gwarze macierzy” poetki.

The article in based on the author’s academic interest in dialectological vocabulary and proper names. The two sectors’ mutual influence is illustrated by means of examples from two locations: Hlohovec, a village on the East-Moravian and Austrian border, the name of which was presumably coined as a consequence of a false interpretation of its appellative basis (Hlohovec is probably not related to the appellative hloh ‘hawthorn’, but to the verb ležet ‘lay’), and Rácov in the Jihlava region of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands where the local appellative perished and an anoikonym was falsely understood and transformed into another one with a different motivation (M/močihuba – ‘heavy drinker’: MozciHuba : Mučí Huba : Mlčí Huba ‘mouth is quiet’ -> Tiché údolí ‘quiet valley’, Mlčící dolina ‘silent dale’).

Příspěvek vychází ze zaměření autorky na nářeční apelativní a propriální slovní zásobu v češtině. Vzájemné ovlivňování a prolínání obou složek je ilustrováno na příkladech ze dvou obcí – z Hlohovce, obce s původně chorvatským obyvatelstvem na pomezí východní Moravy a Rakouska, jejíž název byl zřejmě uměle vytvořen na základě mylné interpretace apelativního východiska jména obce (jméno Hlohovec patrně nesouvisí s apelativem hloh, ale se slovesem ležet), a z Rácova na Jihlavsku na Českomoravské vysočině, kde v důsledku zániku regionálního apelativa došlo k mylnému chápání motivace pomístního jména a jeho přetvoření ve jméno nové, předpokládající zcela jinou motivaci (M/močihuba : MozciHuba : Mučí Huba : Mlčí Huba -> Tiché údolí, Mlčící dolina).
