In Belarus, in an institutional sense, there are no parish archives as independent institutions that perform their functions of historical completing documents, their proper storage, use and access to researchers. This is due to many factors: the dissolution of monasteries and the closure of churches in the 19th century and the waves of nationalization of church property and persecution in the 20th century. Therefore, the discovery of a collection of documents in the church of the village of Michaliszki, which survived, though not entirely, despite historical socio-political events, can be treated as an exceptional event. In this article, an archive is understood as a collection of documents related to the history and activities of a church, parish and/or monastery and kept in the church. According to the pre-arranged ordering and inventory, the archive consists of 41 folders, most of them consisting of one document (e.g. record book or inventory). The article analyzes the evolution of the document composition of the archive, characterizes the groups of available documents and determines their information potential.

W znaczeniu instytucjonalnym na Białorusi nie istnieją archiwa parafialne jako niezależne instytucje pełniące funkcję gromadzenia historycznej dokumentacji, jej właściwego przechowywania i udostępnienia badaczom. Wynika to z wielu czynników: kasacji klasztorów i zamykania kościołów w XIX wieku, kilku fal nacjonalizacji majątku kościelnego i prześladowań w XX wieku. Dlatego odkrycie zbioru dokumentów w kościele we wsi Michaliszki, który mimo historycznych wydarzeń społeczno-politycznych przetrwał, choć nie w całości, można traktować jako wyjątkowe wydarzenie. W niniejszym artykule archiwum rozumiane jest jako zbiór dokumentów związanych z historią i działalnością kościoła, parafii i/lub klasztoru i przechowywanych w kościele. Zgodnie ze wstępnie wykonanym uporządkowaniem i stworzonym inwentarzem archiwum składa się z 41 teczek, w większości złożonych z jednego dokumentu (np. księgi metrykalnej lub inwentarza). W artykule dokonano analizy ewolucji składu dokumentacyjnego archiwum, scharakteryzowano grupy dostępnych dokumentów oraz określono ich potencjał informacyjny.

Artykuł poświęcony jest księgom metrykalnym z czasów zaboru austriackiego dotyczących parafii Niepokalanego Poczęcia NMP i Bożego Ciała w Strzyżowie, która od XVII wieku stanowiła główny ośrodek życia religijnego nad środkowym Wisłokiem. Zaprezentowano w nim wyniki badań prowadzonych nad księgami metrykalnymi w archiwach parafialnych miejscowości, które w czasie zaborów wchodziły w skład parafii w Strzyżowie, a także wyniki kwerend prowadzonych w Urzędzie Stanu Cywilnego w Strzyżowie i archiwach kościelnych, w tym w głównej mierze w Archiwum Archidiecezjalnym w Przemyślu, gdzie przechowywane są ekstrakty metrykalne z lat 1826–1882 dotyczące strzyżowskiego okręgu parafialnego. Dysponując dostępem do wszystkich tych archiwów i metrykaliów w nich się znajdujących, możliwe stało się zbadanie stopnia odtworzenia ruchu naturalnego ludności zamieszkującej parafię w badanym okresie. Uzyskany wynik, blisko 93% dla całej parafii i 100% w przypadku większości miejscowości do niej należących, umożliwia rozpoczęcie badań nad ludnością parafii Niepokalanego Poczęcia NMP i Bożego Ciała w Strzyżowie, jak i samego Strzyżowa w XIX wieku.

The article concerns the registers of the times when Poland was under Austrian rule in the parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Corpus Christi in Strzyżów, which from the 17th century had been the main centre of religious life in the region of the middle course of the Wisłok river. The article presents the results of the research into the registers kept in the archives of the villages which – in the period of Poland’s partitions – were parts of the Strzyżów Parish, as well as the results of the preliminary research conducted in the Registry Office in Strzyżów and church archives, including the Archdiocesan Archives in Przemyśl, where extracts of register certificates concerning the Strzyżów Parish from the years 1826–1882 are kept. The research into the degree of reconstruction of vital statistics of the population living within the parish and time in question would not be possible without the access to all those archives and records kept there. The result – almost 93% for the whole parish and 100% for most of the villages within the parish – makes it possible to initiate research into the population of the parish of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Corpus Christi in Strzyżów, and the town proper in the 19th century as well.
