Artykuł podejmuje próbę ujęcia normalizacji jako procesu umożliwiającego rozpatrywanie życia osób z niepełnosprawnością w wymiarach autorskich. Wskazuje, że aksjologia współczesnego modelu rehabilitacji stawia za cel przygotowanie osób z niepełnosprawnością do egzystencji upodmiotowionej, dzięki której stają się one autorami swojego życia. Artykuł prezentuje paradygmat wsparcia jako współcześnie – w porównaniu z tradycyjnymi systemami usług – formułowany projekt tworzenia podmiotowych warunków życia osób z niepełnosprawnością. Przegląd stanowisk przedstawicieli nauk społecznych umożliwił rozpoznanie niektórych aspektów podmiotowości i autorstwa własnego życia, takich jak – w szczególności – poczucie tożsamości osób z niepełnosprawnością, a także ich jakość życia i samostanowienie.

The article attempts to present normalization as a process that makes it possible to look at the life of people with disabilities in terms of authorship dimensions. It shows that the axiology of the current model of rehabilitation aims at preparing people with disabilities for subjectivized existence, thanks to which they become the authors of their life. The article presents the paradigm of support as a contemporary project – as compared to traditional systems of services – aimed at creating subjective living conditions for people with disabilities. A review of positions taken by the representatives of social sciences made it possible to identify some aspects of subjectivity and authorship of one’s life, such as – in particular – a sense of identity of people with disabilities and also their quality of life and self-determination.
