The aim of this paper is to briefly present main ideas of my Ph.D. dissertation: ”Boys of bad neighborhoods, well-bred youth”. City as an “autobiographical site” in the personal narratives about growing up in the twentieth-century Warsaw (S. Grzesiuk, M. Hłasko, M. Nowakowski, J. Przybora, J. Abramow Newerly, A. Osiecka) which focuses on auto/biographical narratives settled in the twentieth-century Warsaw. This study will draw on diverse approaches to the history of literature. Auto/biography, geopoetics and memory studies will provide a means for exploring the role of different “autobiographical sites” (a term proposed by Małgorzata Czermińska) in nostalgic narratives of Stanisław Grzesiuk, Marek Hłasko, Marek Nowakowski, Jeremi Przybora, Jarosław Abramow-Newerly and Agnieszka Osiecka.
