This text supplements the Bibliography of Prague School Typological Theory, which contained entries up to 2006 and was published in the same year. After a brief reminder of the main principles and the most important representatives of this approach, there follows a list of works published after 2006 and those that appeared during that year, or previously, but were not included in the original Bibliography. The present inventory is divided into four parts, according to authorship: works written by Vladimír Skalička, by Petr Sgall, by Jaroslav Popela, and by other authors.

The advanced use of digital technologies, the existence of freely accessible structured knowledge bases, the increasing level of standardization and the needs of the scientific community offer those who process bibliographical data qualitatively new options for processing such data. In line with current trends in accessing scientific data, which are also reflected in the development of scientific policies (FAIR principles, open science, linkable open data, etc.), the issue of the re-use of existing datasets is gaining in importance. The present text uses the example of the Literarybibliography.eu portal to indicate the options for creating an international subject bibliography for literary studies from existing data sources, while discussing both the theoretical concept behind the project and the technological and methodological issues involved in the creation of such a bibliography, especially the harmonization and further enhancement of the source data.

This text was presented on 9th May 2012 at the Librarian and Information Science Department, Faculty of Arts, Comenius University in Bratislava. The lecture was arranged by this Department, the Book Culture History Section at the Slovak National Library in Martin and the Slovak Academy of Sciences History Institute in Bratislava. The lecture demonstrates that the bases of Czech bibliological research are very closely interconnected with national retrospective bibliography and that this continuity carries on to this day due to personnel restraints. Hence even nowadays no difference is felt between historical bibliography and bibliology. However, historical bibliography is lacking a modern national plan for historical books fonds and ways to process them and make them digitally available. New bibliological research needs to be conceived separately and emancipated from routine bibliographical procedures. Bibliology should not be understood as static and positivistically oriented, but as an interdisciplinary field with links to literary history, art studies, musicology and so forth The sociocultural functions of the book should also be foregrounded, as should research into reading and the readership community from the standpoint of historical development. The pedagogical process should also be motivated by these considerations, which will help it begin to attain a higher standard with regard to bibliology and the history of book culture.

Throughout the centuries Poland and Italy (specifically Rome) were strongly tied. Here, in Italy in the 16th Century were established such institutions as Polish church with affiliated the oldest Polish library abroad. Here there were established hospitals for pilgrims and provided first attempts of setting centres for the youth arriving to Italy for their studies. Italian archives (specifically in Vatican) belong to the ones which are the richest among Polish diaspora collections. It has been long time since Polish researchers have been using them. The paper is an attempt to present Polish written heritage and aims mainly on presenting above all activity of the Polish diaspora institutions in the scope of collecting and distributing Polish library collections and archival documentation. There is discussed relatively rich, however hardly known publishing, bibliographic activity, organization of different actions and events and cooperation with Italian institutions as well as with numerous centres run by the other countries in Rome.

Rok 1989 nesporně přinesl epochální změnu i z hlediska česko‑polských vztahů. Bibliografie je rozdělena do dvou části, z nichž první uvádí Bibliografia przekładów literatury polskiej w Czechach w 2014 roku a druhá Bibliografia przekładów literatury czeskiej w Polsce w 2014 roku, obě části obsahují překladovou literaturu. Zpracovaná bibliografie není výhradně věnována knihám, zahrnuje také časopisy i internetové stránky. Konečným záměrem celého projektu je prostřednictvím serii „Przekłady Literatur Słowiańskich” poskytnout odborné i laické veřejnosti vyčerpávající seznam publikací — překladů české a polské literatury za rok 2014 vydaných na území České republiky a Polska.

The history of Polish‑Czech dealings is long. There is no doubt that the year 1989 brought epochal changes in Polish‑Czech relations. Only then did the Czechs and Poles become rightful neighbours. Territorial disputes are a nonissue and the two countries are connected to each other with mutual affection of the cultural and political elite. Czech‑Polish relations are the best they have been in over a thousand years. This publication, although small in scale, is intended to provide a full picture of the cultural and linguistic relationship between the two nations for the year 2014. It can be viewed as a valuable contribution to this issue. The bibliography is divided into two parts, where the first includes, The bibliography of the translated works of Polish literature in the Czech Republic in 2014, and the second one includes, The bibliography of the translated works of Czech literature in Poland in 2014. Both parts include translated literature. The bibliography is devoted not only to books, but also takes into account periodicals and websites. The ultimate goal of the whole project was to provide both the experts and readers, through the series „Slavic Literature Translations”, with a comprehensive list of translated works of Polish and Czech literature published in Poland and the Czech Republic in the year 2014.

Komentovaná bibliografie z let 2007—2013 bezesporu je jedním z nejvíce cenných sbírkových aktivit v oblasti překladu do českého a polského jazyka. Retrospektivní bibliografie je dobrým zdrojem bibliografických informací o překladů české a polské literatury z let 2007—2013 a zároveň o českém a polském písemnictví.

The discussed here bibliography for the years 2007—2013 is without any doubt one of the most important publications on the subject of translations into Czech and Polish languages. The retrospective bibliography is a very good source for bibliographical information about Polish and Czech literature translation in the years 2007—2013, as well as for the Polish and Czech writing in general. The publication includes a bibliography which makes an attempt to present, if it’s possible, a full picture of the book and periodical production, which were published on the territories of Poland and the Czech Republic. The translations bibliography constitutes a general material for an overview of the development of the Czech and Polish prose, poetry and drama in the recentyears. It can be said that we are richer for a book, in which the author was able to elaborate on the development of the translating activity in Poland and the Czech Republic. This work proves to be valuable not only for the highly specialized experts in the fields of philology and literary history, who have now an access to a comprehensive overview of the Czech and Polish literature in translation, but also is a great introductory material for a wide circle of people interested in the culture of the Polish and Czech nations. In this lies the main importance of the work The Slavic Literature Translations, which is a very interesting work in Poland.

The article analyses the influence of Vladimír Šmilauer on the character of the Journal of Modern Philology (Časopis pro moderní filologii, ČMF). Šmilauer was associated with the Journal for Modern Philology as an author and an editor for Slavic studies (1939–1951). The article describes the main linguistic/philological topics contributed to the magazine by Šmilauer (Slovak studies and the history of the Slovak language, new Czech, e.g. orthography, reports on foreign literature, etc.). The period of Šmilauer’s work at the ČMF falls into a time of socially problematical political systems: the Nazi protectorate after 1939 and the communist terror after 1948. On the example of the case of Šmilauer, we will show how and when political systems were directly reflected in the philological content of the Journal for Modern Philology.
