Cel/teza: Tezą artykułu jest potwierdzenie potrzeby i możliwości zachowania specyfiki badań ukierunkowanych na książkę i informację w warunkach nowej klasyfikacji dziedzin nauki i dyscyplin naukowych. Metody badań: Wykorzystano metodę analizy i krytyki piśmiennictwa. Wyniki i wnioski: Autorki opowiadają się za zachowaniem specyfiki i odrębności problematyki badawczej ukierunkowanej na książkę i informację, przy jednoczesnym poszukiwaniu nowych, wspólnych obszarów i sposobów rozwiązywania problemów badawczych we współpracy z badaczami reprezentującymi nauki o komunikacji społecznej i mediach. Wartość poznawcza: Artykuł włącza się w dyskusję naukową zainicjowaną wypowiedzią Marka Jabłonowskiego i Tomasza Mielczarka Komunikowanie społeczne i media – federacja, a nie inkorporacja („Studia Medioznawcze” 2018, (4) 75, 13–29) nad nową klasyfikacją dziedzin nauki i dyscyplin naukowych oraz dyscyplin artystycznych.

Scientific objective: The thesis of the paper is to confirm the need and the possibility of preserving the specifics of research aimed at book and information in the new classification of science and scientific disciplines by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland. Research methods: The method of analysis and criticism of the literature has been used. Results and conclusions: The authors are in favor of preserving the specificity of research focused on a book and information, while looking for a new and common areas and ways to solve research problems in collaboration with researchers representing media and social communication studies. Cognitive value: The paper is included in the scientific discussion initiated by the paper by Marek Jabłonowski and Tomasz Mielczarek “Komunikowanie społeczne i media – federacja, a nie inkorporacja” (Media Studies 2018, 4(75), 13–29) on the new classification of science and scientific and artistic disciplines.

The multi-channel and multi-code transmission of mass-generated information, combined with the interdisciplinarity of descriptions of the processes of communication and the information influence on people, makes it necessary to strengthen the need for multidimensional analysis of information overproduction and information overload as research objects. Communication and media studies can make a particular contribution because of their research “multimodality”. The paper outlines the dimensions and aspects of information overproduction and information overload already investigated from the information science perspective. The study also presents the selected solutions such as knowledge organization systems, and information culture concepts.

Wielokanałowy i wielokodowy przekaz masowo generowanych danych i informacji w połączeniu z interdyscyplinarnością opisów procesów komunikowania i oddziaływania informacji rodzi potrzebę interdyscyplinowego spojrzenia na obiekt badania, jakim jest tzw. nadprodukcja informacji i będące jedną z jej konsekwencji przeciążenie informacyjne. Nauki o komunikacji społecznej i mediach mogą wnieść tu szczególny wkład ze względu na swoją „multimodalność” badawczą. W artykule zostaną naszkicowane wymiary i aspekty nadprodukcji informacji badane z perspektywy informatologicznej, a także wypracowane rozwiązania, takie jak na przykład narzędzia do organizacji informacji oraz koncepcja kultury informacyjnej.

W artykule skupiono się na przedstawieniu charakterystyki „Roczników Bibliotecznych” i aktualnych problemów pracy redakcyjnej w ostatnim dziewięcioleciu, głównie w związku z ministerialnymi ewaluacjami czasopisma dokonywanymi od 1998 r. oraz aktualną sytuacją dyscypliny naukowej bibliologia i informatologia. W związku z zachodzącymi przemianami w organizacji i kierunkach rozwoju nauki polskiej najważniejszym wyzwaniem dla czasopisma staje się jego umiędzynarodowienie i od realizacji tego postulatu będzie zależeć jego dalszy rozwój.

The article focuses on presenting the characteristics of the “Library Annuals” („Roczniki Biblioteczne”) and the editorial problems in the last nine years, mainly related to the ministerial evaluations of the journal carried out since 1998 and the current situation of the scientific discipline “Bibliology and Information Science”. Regarding the ongoing changes in the organization and development directions of Polish science, the most important challenge for the journal is its internationalization, as its further development shall depend on the implementation of this postulate.

The book is a tool of cultural transfer, helping children and adults in different life situations (learning, leisure). Behind it there are people, publish-ers, printers, librarians who shape the culture at various levels (local, regional, national, international). Book institutions play a significant role in the intergen-erational and intercultural transfer. The article presents the initiatives of the Workshop of Dictionary of Polish book labourers for the biographical registra-tion of people associated with the process of creating, distributing and collect-ing prints in Poland.

Książka jest narzędziem transferu kulturowego, pomagającym dzieciom i osobom dorosłym w różnych sytuacjach życiowych (nauka, czas wolny). Za nią stoją ludzie, wydawcy, drukarze, bibliotekarze, którzy kształtują kulturę na różnych poziomach (lokalnym, regionalnym, krajowym, międzynarodowym). Instytucje książki odgrywają znaczącą rolę w procesie transferu kultury – międzypokoleniowym i międzykulturowym. W artykule przedstawione zostały działania Pracowni Słownika pracowników książki polskiej na rzecz rejestracji biograficznej osób związanych z procesem tworzenia, rozpowszechniania oraz gromadzenia druków w Polsce.

W dniach 19-20 kwietnia 2021 r. we Wrocławiu miała miejsce międzynarodowa konferencja naukowa dla uczczenia jubileuszu 65-lecia utworzenia na Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim akademickiego ośrodka kształcenia bibliotekarzy na poziomie wyższym, którego chlubne tradycje kontynuuje dziś Instytut Informacji Naukowej i Bibliotekoznawstwa. W sprawozdaniu z tego wydarzenia zawarto charakterystykę imprezy. Omówiono poszczególne wystąpienia konferencyjne, zestawiając je w wyróżniające się pod względem treściowym bloki tematyczne: czytelnictwo; edytorstwo; źródła informacji o książce; biblioteki; nauka o książce; ruch wydawniczy. Zwrócono uwagę na podstawowe hipotezy i tezy badawcze zawarte w referatach. W omówieniu referatów zagranicznych zaakcentowane zostały obecne w nich polonica. Podkreślona została sprawność organizatora, który wskutek pandemii COVID-19 zmuszony był do przeprowadzenia konferencji w trybie zdalnym. Wyzyskał w pełni wszystkie możliwości, jakie daje ta formuła, a zwłaszcza czat, dzięki czemu możliwe było komentowanie na gorąco prezentowanych referatów, zadawanie pytań referentom oraz wymiana poglądów pomiędzy uczestnikami. Warto też zaznaczyć, że konferencji towarzyszyła międzynarodowa wystawa ekslibrisu pod hasłem wywoławczym: „Instytut Informacji Naukowej i Bibliotekoznawstwa Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego”.

On April 19-20, 2021, an international scientific conference was held in Wrocław to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of an academic centre for the education of librarians at the University of Wrocław at the higher level, whose estimable traditions are continued today by the Institute of Library and Information Science. The report on this event contains the characteristics of the event. Individual conference speeches were discussed, juxtaposing them in thematic blocks in terms of contents: readership; editing; sources of information about a book; libraries; bibliology; publishing traffic. Attention was paid to the basic hypotheses and research theses contained in the papers. In the discussion of foreign papers, the polonica present in them were emphasized. The efficiency of the organizer was highlighted, who, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, was forced to conduct the conference remotely. He took full advantage of all the possibilities offered by this formula, especially of the chat, thanks to which it was possible to comment on the presented papers, ask questions to the speakers and exchange views between the participants. It is also worth noting that the conference was accompanied by an international exhibition of ex libris under the slogan: “Institute of Library and Information Science of the University of Wrocław.”

Am 19.-20. April 2021 fand in Breslau eine internationale wissenschaftliche Tagung anlässlich des 65. Jubiläums der Entstehung eines akademischen Zentrums für bibliothekarische Hochschulbildung an der Universität Wrocław (Breslau) statt, dessen Tradition heutzutage das Institut für Wissenschaftliche Information und Bibliothekswissenschaft fortsetzt. Im Bericht über dieses Ereignis knüpfte man an die Charakteristik des Ereignisses an. Man schilderte ausführlich die einzelnen Referate und stellte sie inhaltlich zusammen, und zwar nach den folgenden Stichpunkten: Leserschaft, Editionswesen, Informationsquellen über Bücher, Bibliotheken, Buchwissenschaft, Verlagsbewegung. Man bemerkte auch die grundlegenden Hypothesen und Forschungsthesen der Referenten. In Bezug auf die ausländischen Vorträge betonte man die darin vorhandenen Polonica. Man unterstrich die Geschicklichkeit des Organisators, der wegen der COVID-19-Pandemie dazu gezwungen war, die Tagung online zu organisieren. Er nutzte vollständig die Möglichkeiten, die diese Kommunikationsform anbietet, vor allem das Chat, dank dem das sofortige Kommentieren, Fragestellen und der Meinungsaustausch zwischen den Teilnehmern überhaupt möglich waren. Es ist auch zu betonen, dass die Tagung von einer internationalen Exlibris-Ausstellung begleitet war, die nach dem Stichwort „Institut für Wissenschaftliche Information und Bibliothekswissenschaft der Universität Wrocław (Breslau)“ betitelt war.
