The research concerned the knowledge of carabid beetles (Col. Carabidae) assemblages, occurring in the cultivation of tansy phacelia. The study was conducted in 2008–2009 in Bartążek near Olsztyn. Ground beetles were caught into Barber traps from May to September each year. In total, 2,425 individuals belonging to 37 species were captured. It was observed high values of species diversity of beetles occurring in the phacelia crop. There were a lot of valuable species of ground beetles, belonging to different ecological groups, especially large zoophages which may have an impact on reducing the number of plant pests. It was found that the cultivation of phacelia may be a valuable element of ecological infrastructure in agrocenosis creating conditions conducive to the presence of predators.

Badania dotyczyły poznania zgrupowań biegaczowatych (Col. Carabidae), występujących w uprawie facelii błękitnej. Badania prowadzono w latach 2008–2009 w Bartążku koło Olsztyna. Biegaczowate były odławiane do pułapek Barbera od maja do końca września każdego roku. Ogółem odłowiono 2425 osobników należących do 37 gatunków. Zaobserwowano wysokie wartości wskaźników różnorodności gatunkowej biegaczowatych występujących w uprawie facelii. Stwierdzono występowanie biegaczowatych, należących do różnych grup ekologicznych, szczególnie dużych zoofagów mogących mieć wpływ na ograniczanie liczebności szkodników roślin. Uprawy facelii błękitnej stanowią element infrastruktury ekologicznej w agrocenozach, stwarzającej warunki sprzyjające występowaniu drapieżców.

The research conducted into ground beetles, spiders and harvestmen occurring in the area of the Wielkopolska Ethnographic Park (a part of the Lednica Landscape Park) revealed 111 species of spiders (Araneae) (table 1), seven species of harvestmen (Opiliones) (table 1) and 68 species of ground beetles (Carabidae), which points out the abundance of invertebrate fauna. The significant diversity of species and presence of species important as far as fauna is concerned con9rms the high attractiveness of this area. They indicate also that the natural environment of the Lednica Landscape Park is well preserved. Sites representative of Salticidae—Talavera aperta (Miller), which is rare in Europe, as well as of species including: Mecynargus foveatus (Dahl), Agyneta fuscipalpis (C.L.K.), Silometopus reussi (Th.), Styloctetor stativus (Sim.), Drassyllus lutetianus (L.K.), Drassyllus praeficus (L.K.), Zelotes electus (C.L.K.), Ozyptila claveata (Walck.) Ozyptila scabricula (Westr.), which are rare or endangered in Poland, have been ascertained among others within the research area. In the open-air Lednica museum a few species of the ground beetles family have been also found. They are rare in Poland and include: Blethisa multipunctata (Linné, 1758), Limodromus longiventris (Mannerheim, 1825), Oodes helopioides (Fabricius, 1792)—the latter with the status of an endangered species, exposed to extinction [Turowska 2012], Licinus depressus (Paykull, 1790).
