Na tle najnowszych losów polskiej emigracji z północnej Francji scharakteryzowano jej wiodący periodyk „Echo de la Polonia”. Z zastosowaniem metody prasoznawczej przeanalizowano zawartość treściową pisma w kontekście utrzymania polonijnej spójności i tożsamości narodowej. Zaprezentowano okoliczności powstania, ewolucję i samą zawartość gazety oraz środowisko wokół niej skupione. Ukazano zarówno ważność, jak i nieprzystawalność treści w stosunku do rzeczywistych problemów emigracji. Podkreślono jej sukcesy i porażki oraz kluczową rolę periodyku w utrzymaniu polonijnej jedności i rejestracji dziedzictwa emigracyjnego.

The article examines the newspaper “Echo de la Polonia” with a reference to the latest fate of the Polish emigration from Northern France. Through a case study approach and content analysis of the magazine the study looks at maintaining cohesion and national identity of Polish citizens abroad. The paper presents the origins and evolution of the magazine and dynamic changes in economy, society, and so on. It also aims at presenting the essence of Polish life in exile, some successes and failures, as well as the key role of the magazine in maintaining the Polish identity and emigration heritage.
