The article is an analysis of the trend of the Polish system of child care. Care needs of children and youth due to poverty, which is affected 17.7% of the population in our country, unemployment, homelessness and pathology in families. Determinant of changes conducive to reform the whole system SA changes in the Polish welfare legislation. The beginnings of reform were visible in the area of improving standards in the various forms of care. In contrast, the culmination of activities in this area is the law of family support and foster care system that efforts to care for the child focuses on the family. The National Anti-Poverty Program and Social Exclusion 2020 focuses on developing forms of support care and educational functions of the family and the prevention of social exclusion of children and their families.
