The aim of the paper is to present a few interesting trends of a word formation in a children’s language. Various groups of words have been discussed. Special attention has been paid to a figurative type which represents children’s creativity as well as relations between names and reality: features of the person, thing or reality. The choice, which is made by a child of a transparent internal form instead of a traditional form used for new words formation (creation), reflects specific children’s perception of the word.

The main aim of this paper is to show how two immediately successive generations of pre-school children own — thanks to language — the rules of participation in social life and knowledge of the surrounding world. These two generations were the ones, who in the years 1980–83 were at a pre-school age and are now parents of children of the same age in 2010–2013. The analysis of the lexical score and language consciousness conducted from a thirty years’ perspective gave unexpected results which suggest the need to revise Baudouin de Courtenay’s thesis, according to which children’s language is a kind of projection of adult users language representing the next generation. Made confrontations done show how many new words (which were not used by the previous generation, i.e. parents) appear in the lexical score and in consciousness of today pre-schools.

The article aims to present the children’s vocabulary in terms of the presence of animal topics. The author characterizes given issues on the basis of linguistic statistics research (volumes: H. Zgółkowa, K. Bułczyńska, Vocabulary of kindergarten children, Poznań 1987; H. Zgółkowa, Vocabulary of kindergarten children 2010–2015, Poznań 2016).The material used in two dictionaries was collected in the years1980–1983 and 2010–2015. The frequency and range lists were analysed. In the examples described, animal names appear in language of the youngest speakers of Polish (2–7 years old). Animal topics may play a supportive role in linguistic, glottodidactic and natural education.

Artykuł przedstawia nazwy zwierząt obecne w słownictwie dziecięcym. Autorka charakteryzuje wskazane zagadnienia na podstawie badań z zakresu statystyki językowej (H. Zgółkowa, K. Bułczyńska, Słownictwo dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym, Poznań 1987; H. Zgółkowa Słownictwo dzieci w wieku przedszkolnym w latach 2010-2015, Poznań 2016). Materiał zawarty w słownikach gromadzono w latach 1980-1983 oraz 2010-2015. Analizie poddano listy frekwencyjne i rangowe. Opisane zostały nazwy zwierząt pojawiające się w języku najmłodszych użytkowników polszczyzny (2-7 lat). Tematyka animalna może wspierać kształcenie językowe oraz inne formy edukacji, glottodydaktycznej i przyrodniczej.
