According to the author of the article, the camerawork means in the film are determined by cultural representations rather than − as it might seem − by realistic requirements of the presented scenes. The draft includes a di- scussion on the light, the use of colour and the composition of the frame in the film, as well as examines the principles that guide the cameramen to get the viewer to react in the way most suitable to the conception of the scene assumed in the screenplay. The analysis is based on four films, with Danny Cohen as director of photography: The Kingʼs Speech (2010), Glorious 39 (1939), The Boat That Rocked (2009), This is England (2006).
