Słowacki pisarz Rudolf Sloboda uważany jest za jednego z czołowych autorów literatury słowackiej po II wojnie światowej. Jego twórczość obejmuje nie tylko prozę, którą według znawczyni Slobody Zory Pruškovej można nazwać niezwykle autobiograficzną, poezję, eseje oraz książki dla dzieci, lecz także kilka scenariuszy filmowych i dwa dramaty. Większość biografów często zapomina o dwuaktowej sztuce, opublikowanej w 1965 r. w dwóch numerach czasopisma literackiego Slovenské pohľady jako Vojna s malým Holandskom, ponieważ nigdy jej nie wystawiono. W artykule omówiono cechy tej sztuki, a także przedstawiono kontekst jej powstania, na którym odcisnęła się cenzura reżimu komunistycznego. We wnioskach autor zauważa, że nazwy geograficzne i postaci przedstawione w sztuce pozwalają na hipotezę, iż Sloboda stworzył chronotopiczny odpowiednik Króla Ubu Alfreda Jarry’ego, przedstawiający Holandię jako abstrakcyjną koncepcję.

The Slovak writer Rudolf Sloboda is considered one of the leading authors of Slovak literature since World War II. His oeuvre is divided into prose, which, according to Sloboda expert Zora Prušková, can be called extremely autobiographical, and several collections of poems, essays and children’s books, but in addition he also wrote several film scenarios and two theatre plays. Most biographers forget to mention the two-act play that was published in 1965 in two issues of the literary magazine Slovenské pohľady as Vojna s malým Holandskom (War with the Little Netherlands), because this play was never performed. In this contribution, some striking features of the play are explained. It also outlines the context in which the play originated, which was accompanied by censorship by the Communist regime. Finally, it is argued that, if the geographical names and the characters are examined closely, a chronotopical counterpart to Alfred Jarry’s absurdist play Ubu Roi was created here, with the Netherlands deemed an abstract enough concept.

De Slowaakse schrijver Rudolf Sloboda geldt als een van de meest vooraanstaande auteurs van Slowaakse literatuur na de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Zijn oeuvre valt uiteen in proza dat volgens Sloboda-kenner Zora Prušková uiterst autobiografisch te noemen valt, maar hij schreef naast enkele gedichtenbundels, essays en kinderboeken ook diverse filmscenario´s en twee toneelstukken. De meeste biografen vergeten daarbij dikwijls nog een twee-akter te vermelden die in 1965 in twee nummers van het literaire tijdschrift Slovenské pohľady kon verschijnen als Vojna s malým Holandskom (Oorlog met het kleine Nederland), omdat dit toneelstuk nooit werd opgevoerd. In deze bijdrage worden enkele opvallende kenmerken van het stuk uiteengezet. Daarbij wordt de ontstaanscontext van het stuk geschetst, die gepaard ging met de censuur van het communistische regime. Er wordt uiteindelijk betoogd dat, als de geografische benamingen en de personages goed onder de loep genomen worden, hier een imagologische en chronotopische tegenvoeter gecreëerd werd van het absurde toneelstuk Ubu roi van Alfred Jarry, met Nederland als een abstract genoeg begrip.
