The Association of Polish Electricians should create its own archives that would be a central, self-governed and company institution. Such an institution would be a place to keep all the materials owned by the Association, both of the perpetual value (A category) and kept temporarily (B category). The described collection of materials would not be stateowned but instead it would be registered as part of the national resources. The planned archive institution ought to have sufficient storage space and should be equipped with rolling bookshelves, a system of smoke detectors, foam extinguishers and an installation to guarantee the right temperature and humidity. In addition, it should have a workshop and some extra rooms for archivists. The B-category materials should gradually be sorted for rejects, whereas the A-category ones should be analysed according to the office method which seems to be the best and simplest one. Apart from traditional documents on paper carrier the archives should be prepared to gather, analyse and make available photographic documents and should be prepared to work on electronic documents which requires still another approach and equipment. Last but not least, the archives of the Association of Polish Electricians should be created in order to keep documents produced by that organisation for future generations.
