W artykule opisano procesy konstruowania świadomości tożsamościowej i ich ścisły związek z powstawaniem pamięci kulturowej na Pomorzu pod rządami Szwecji i Prus w latach 1800-1845. Okazuje się, że w okresie po połączeniu Pomorza w 1815 roku państwu pruskiemu nie udało się stworzyć jednorodnej świadomości tożsamościowej mieszkańców tego regionu. Pytanie o istnienie tożsamości regionalnej nie traci przy tym na aktualności, bowiem szczególnie w dobie procesów globalizacji pozostaje ono nadal niezwykle ważnym zagadnieniem.

The paper contains a description of the processes active in the construction of identity consciousness and their close connection with the emergence of cultural memory in Pomerania under the rule of Sweden and Prussia in the years 1800-1845. It appears that in the period after the consolidation of Pomerania in 1815 Prussian government did not manage to create homogenous identity consciousness of the inhabitants of the region. The question about the existence of regional identity, however, cannot be considered irrelevant in this context and remains an extremely important issue in the times of globalization processes.
