W artykule poruszono kwestię roli innowacji społecznych rozumianych jako katalizator zmiany społecznej i gospodarczej, który ma sprzyjać osiąganiu wysokiego stopnia konwergencji gospodarczej, stopniowemu niwelowaniu różnic rozwojowych. Zwrócono szczególną uwagę na rolę na kontekst terytorialny tworzenia „klimatu innowacyjnego” oraz globalizacyjny kontekst innowacji zarówno jako źródła zmiany pozytywnej, ale także przyczyny napięć związanych z różnicowaniem potencjałów rozwojowych.

The article concerns the role of social innovations understood as a catalyst of social and economic changes, which is to create favourable conditions for obtaining a high level of economic convergation, gradual elimination of development differences. A special attention has been paid to the territorial context of creating the “innovative climate” and the globalisation context of innovations, both as a source of a positive change but also as a cause of tensions connected with different development potentials.
