The year 2012 is established by UNO as a year of cooperative movement. In January 2010 also the Polish government adopted “Report about Polish cooperatives”. In this connection the work investigates the status and prospects of Polish cooperatives. The condition in which there are a number of cooperatives is presented on the basis of “Społem” PSS in Ostrołęka, which belongs to forty cooperatives “Społem” in Poland.

Obecna kondycja niektórych spółdzielni została ukazana na podstawie strategii zarządzania spółdzielnią na przykładzie działalności Powszechnej Spółdzielni Spożywców „Społem” w Ostrołęce, która należy do czterdziestu spółdzielni „Społem” w kraju tzw. „stulatek”.
