Artykuł stanowi zapowiedź przygotowywanej rozprawy Słownictwo rzemiosł w drewnie w polszczyźnie. Dotychczas brak jest kompleksowego opracowania słownictwa przyporządkowanego tej gałęzi rzemiosła. Materiał badawczy, liczący ponad siedem tysięcy jednostek leksykalnych, wyekscerpowano ze słowników języka polskiego oraz słowników tematycznych. Do prezentacji zgromadzonego bogatego materiału językowego wykorzystano teorię pól językowych. Podstawą podziału słownictwa rzemiosł w drewnie stało się antropocentryczne ujęcie świata uwzględniające specyfikę badanej leksyki. Materiał badawczy został zaklasyfiko‑ wany do czterech sfer, 19 pól i 70 podpól znaczeniowych. Oprócz przeglądu pól autorka planuje analizę żywotności wyekscerpowanych wyra‑ zów i ich funkcjonalności we współczesnej polszczyźnie oraz próbę ustalenia etymologii badanego słownictwa, co pozwoli określić rolę słownictwa rzemiosł w drewnie w polszczyźnie.

The article constitutes the herald of the upcoming dissertation “The Vocabulary of Craftsmanship in Wood in Polish”. So far there has not been a complex study of voca‑ bulary related to this branch of craftsmanship. The research data comprising over seven thousand of lexical items, has been excerpted from Polish dictionaries and thematic dictionaries. For the purpose of the presentation of the rich lexical data there has been used the Fields Theory. The base for the division of craftsmanship vocabulary became the anthropocentric approach to the world taking account the uniqueness of the given lexis. The research data was classified into four areas, 19 fields and 70 subfields . Apart from reviewing the fields the author plans to analyze the vitality of the given items and their functionality in contemporary Polish as well as tries to determine the etymology of the given items which will allow to define the role of vocabulary of craftsmanship in wood in Polish.
