The problem discussed in this article is myth and magic realism in Olga Tokarczuk’s novel Primeval and Other Times (Prawiek i inne czasy). Typical elements used in constructing such a composition are miracles which happen in ordinary life and the perceived normality of miracles. Ordinary objects are unusual but the unusual events are the most ordinary. In the magic realism everything is important just the same so in the novel’s world there are no empty places, and the borders of place and time are vague. Prawiek is a magic village in which the miracles happen and in which angels live. There are many biblical references in the novel. Two worlds – real and they function on principle of coexistence magic and they are fulfilled mutually. Safe and fairy tale world is friendly person only, existing historic time can blast it objectively only.
