Peryfraza była interpretowana w ramach kategorii modalności i ewidencjonalności. Niniejszy artykuł pokazuje jej trzecią interpretację: chodzi o rodzaj prospektywności, która należy do kategorii aspektu. Dokładnie mówiąc, peryfraza wyznacza „fazę przygotowawczą”, czyli taką, która prowadzi do sytuacji nazwanej przez czasownik główny. Ta interpretacja pojawia się wtedy, gdy peryfraza łączy się z partykułą właśnie lub już, a także z odpowiednim kontekstem czasowym. W ten sposób powstaje konstrukcja o znaczeniu fazy przygotowawczej.

The Polish verb phrase has been described in terms of a modal or evidential reading. The article presents its third reading, namely a sort of prospectivity that belongs to the category of aspect. The verb phrase can indicate precisely the “preparatory phase”, i.e. the phase which leads to the situation named by the main verb. This reading appears when the verb phrase is combined with the particle właśnie (just) or już (already/yet) and when it is situated in a specific temporal context. Thus a construction with the reading of a preparatory phase is built.
