Which text types have appeared in editions of a daily newspaper in the course of 75 years? A classification built on corresponding preliminary work in media studies and text linguistics has been presented in order to to show their differentiation. On the basis of the example of December issues of the “Berliner Zeitung” from the years 1945, 1960, 1975, 1990, 2005 and 2020, evidence for the differentiated text types will be sought. The diachronic comparison reveals strong dependence of the repertoire of text types on historical circumstances, but also on editorial decisions.

Welche Textsorten erscheinen in den Ausgaben einer Tageszeitung im Verlaufe von siebeneinhalb Jahrzehnten? Fur deren Differenzierung wird eine Klassifikation vorgestellt, die auf entsprechende Vorarbeiten aus Medienwissenschaft und Textlinguistik aufbaut. Am Beispiel je einer Dezember-Ausgabe der „Berliner Zeitung“ aus den Jahren 1945, 1960, 1975, 1990, 2005 und 2020 werden Belege fur die unterschiedenen Textsorten gesucht. Im diachronen Vergleich tritt die starke Abhangigkeit des Textsortenrepertoires von den historischen Umstanden, aber auch von Entscheidungen der Redaktion zutage.

Seit einigen Jahren werden deutsche Geburtsanzeigen überwiegend in Tageszeitungen publiziert. Die Eltern versuchen nicht nur, ihre Freude über die Geburt ihres Kindes auszudrücken, sondern auch mit Hilfe von Metaphern ungewöhnlich und originell zu wirken. Häufig wird die Mitteilung auch als bimodaler Text konstruiert, wobei ein verbaler Textteil mit einer unerwarteten Abbildung kombiniert wird. Das bildliche Element wird gescannt oder aus dem Internet heruntergeladen. Es kann dabei auch scherzhaft eine andere Textsorte fiktiv als Geburtsanzeige verwendet werden.

Since a couple of years German announcements of birthday mostly are published in daily news­letters. The parents of the children not only try to express their happiness about the birth, but also to show off unexpected and original texts by using special metaphors. Often announcements are presented as multimodal texts by combining verbal parts with pictures. The non-verbal parts may be scanned ore downloaded from the Internet. Sometimes even fictitious text types are used in order to construct unusual and humorous announcements.
