Denial of the Holocaust is a topic that is largely discussed and attracts public attention to this day. However, the language used when debating historical revisionism is oftentimes limited to the Jewish victims and survivors, while other groups, which were targeted during World War II, are regularly omitted from the discourse. The objective of this qualitative study is to establish what are the common patterns of two types of Holocaust denial – denial of the Jewish genocide and denial of the Roma genocide – and how these are treated by the international community. The findings of this research indicate that the deniers adhere to similar ideologies that result in questioning the existence of the Holocaust. The international community poses as an interesting case as the Roma genocide is not denied; however, its existence has been largely unacknowledged until a recent slight turn towards more equal treatment of survivors and victims in several countries.

May you live in interesting times, the famous maxim quotes. Undoubtedly, at least in the historical context, periods of political, social, scientific, or economic riots – or at least commotion, ferment, crisis – have certainly earned such a title. So have the epochs which were subject to radical transformations distorting traditional relationships and institutions, existing patterns and rules. The abovementioned “interestingness” is thus a function of a radical change, challenge and variability, somewhat a derivative of erosion, and of all that we associate it with the notion of revolution or turn, be it political, social, economic, environmental, or scientific. The paper’s core aim is to examine the nowadays constantly revised, questioned, thus, shaking demarcation between science and pseudoscience in the light of new trends such as misinformation, denialism, internetisation and memoisation of scientific discourses.

The analyses presented in this study are focused on identifying new trends and challenges in the healthcare sector, primarily stemming from the ongoing global civilizational turning point as a consequence of the fourth industrial revolution, the digital revolution with its unimaginable potential of artificial intelligence. In such conditions, solutions aimed at optimal utilization of new technologies are particularly crucial, especially those addressing irregularities that result in the wastage of material and intellectual potential in this sector. In the face of almost chronic shortages in healthcare funding sources, characteristic not only of Poland but also many other countries, the rationalization of the utilization of available resources becomes of paramount importance. In Poland, this is particularly significant due to relatively low expenditures on healthcare, both in absolute terms and in relation to GDP. This is confirmed by the international statistics presented in the article. In this context, the article highlights selected rationalizing directions for changes in the national healthcare system.

Potwierdzają to prezentowane w artykule statystyki międzynarodowe.
