Although the diagnosis of the facial and occlusal conditions is due of orthodontist, the speech therapist analyzes some elements of them as an important point in the diagnostic procedure. This article has been designed as a tool to assist speech therapists in analyzing of the occlusion in patients with speech problems. First the conditions for proper examination are indicated and then the criteria for the analysis are defined. It is believed to help speech therapists to be able to define type of morphological problems in their patients and to determine if they are important for the quality of speech or planned therapy.

Zasadniczo rozpoznanie warunków twarzowo-zgryzowych stawia ortodonta, jednak specjalista od zaburzeń mowy uwzględnia elementy diagnostyki ortodontycznej jako ważny punkt postępowania. Niniejsze opracowanie zostało zaprojektowane jako narzędzie, które ma służyć logopedom jako pomoc w analizie zgryzu. Wskazano warunki właściwej oceny oraz zdefiniowano kryteria i elementy, dzięki którym logopeda ma możliwość ustalić, z jakim rodzajem problemów ma do czynienia, a także określić, w jakim zakresie istniejące nieprawidłowości mają znaczenie dla jakości mowy czy planowanej terapii logopedycznej.
