The aim of the article is to discuss the issue of key competences and to show examples of didactic solutions related to their education in the scope of Polish language education and educational work. The author focuses primarily on social and communication competences. She presents the assumptions of pedagogical innovation, which assumes youth project activities. She also points out the benefits of casting students as explorers, seekers, and creators.

Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie wyników badań empirycznych jakościowych nad innowacjami dydaktycznymi będącymi rezultatami twórczej pracy dydaktycznej polskich nauczycieli akademickich. Badania zostały zrealizowane zgodnie z koncepcją teoretyczno-metodologiczną ESA Howarda E. Grubera. W ba- daniach zastosowano wielokrotne studium przypadku z analizą wertykalną i horyzontalną, wywiady semistrukturyzowane oraz analizę zdjęć z zajęć prowadzonych przez innowatorów. Na etapie analizy i interpretacji uzyskanych wyników badań posłużono się modelem Interpretacyjnej Analizy Fenomenologicznej (IPA). Przepro- wadzone badania pozwoliły określić specyfikę i właściwości innowacji dydaktycznych proponowanych przez badanych nauczycieli-innowatorów.

The aim of the study is to present the results of empirical and qualitative research on didactic innovations resulting from the creative didactic work of Polish academic teachers. The research was carried out in accordance with the theoretical and methodological concept of ESA Howard E. Gruber. The research used multiple case studies with vertical and horizontal analysis, semi-structured interviews and photo analysis of classes conducted by innovators. At the stage of analysis and interpretation of the obtained research results, the model of Interpretive Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) was used. The conducted research allowed to determine the specificity and properties of didactic innovations proposed by the surveyed teachers-innovators.
