The protection of industrial property rights in the digital economy era is of particular importance because the digital economy increases the risk of trading pirated and counterfeit goods. The aim of this publication is to present the role of customs authorities in trademark protection of a product upon its entry into the EU common customs area. Customs authorities usually work as the first line of defence in the protection of property rights against an illegal entry which could further enable their retail distribution. Actions taken by customs authorities often require cooperation with the police, the border guard, the road traffic inspectorate, and foreign customs authorities. Customs authorities of individual Member States, including Polish customs officers, implement uniform EU customs law, which regulates the general rules and procedures applicable to goods (but not to services) lawfully introduced into the EU customs area. Cultural objects are here treated as items not subject to the principle of free movement of goods – they require clearance by cultural authorities and customs services.

The study contains selected terminology in the field of heritage archiving, with particular emphasis on digital archiving issues. As materials for the subject dictionary, it includes entries in the following groups: (1) written heritage recorded on a traditional medium, (2) state of preservation of written heritage: research and counteracting threats, (3) types of heritage and its protection, (4) archives: types, features, goals, (5) digital heritage: new challenges, (6) systems, standards, file recording/description formats. The basis for preparing the entries was scientific literature (studies), content posted on the websites of im-portant institutions and official documents. The contributing study was created as a collective work during conversation classes, carried out in accordance with the program assumptions and learning outcomes presented in the syllabus of the Digital Archiving Methods subject.

Opracowanie zawiera wybraną terminologię z zakresu archiwizacji dziedzictwa, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem zagadnień archiwizacji cyfrowej. Jako materiały do słownika rzeczowego obejmuje hasła w grupach: (1) dziedzictwo piśmiennicze utrwalone na nośniku tradycyjnym, (2) stan zachowania dziedzictwa piśmienniczego: badania i przeciwdziałanie zagrożeniom, (3) rodzaje dziedzictwa i jego chronienie, (4) archiwa: rodzaje, cechy, cele, (5) dziedzictwo cyfrowe: nowe wyzwania, (6) systemy, standardy, formaty zapisu/opisu plików. Podstawą do sporządzenia haseł była literatura naukowa (opracowania), treści zamieszczone w serwisach ważnych instytucji oraz dokumenty urzędowe. Przyczynkowe opracowanie powstało jako praca zbiorowa w toku zajęć konwersatoryjnych, realizowanych zgodnie z założeniami programu oraz efektami uczenia się przedstawionymi w sylabusie przedmiotu Metody archiwizacji cyfrowej.
