Author claims as Ernesto Laclau that populism is a typical example of populist strategy. That’s why in the populist discourse politicians use different language figures to make verbal transmission more plausible. Moreover, in the populist discourse politicians very often refer to myths. Referring to myths in a discussion or a political debate is supposed to convince people to views propagated by populists. In this article author presents examples of creating and using different myths in Polish political discourse, for example myth of Smolensk catastrophe.

The paper presents a theoretical model of discourse about terrorism, indicating the need to consider while communicating, a number of cultural factors that create a “spiral of terrorism”, both internal – essentials as well as external – socially constructed. It points to the importance of an essentialist approach vs. a constructionist approach in presenting and explaining the phenomena of terrorism in the public space. It also points to conditions associated with a different concept of “I” in diverse cultures and its impact on phenomena interpretation and behavior. Attention is drawn to the importance of the language used by participants in the discourse about terrorism that facilitates or not, the insight and view of the reality in which terrorism occurs.

The aim of this paper is attempt to show the postmodern opening in the Polish ethnology. On the one hand, the text shows that the character of ‘Polish’ postmodernism was shaped over the course of the accelerated reception of theory and concepts formulated in international anthropology two decades earlier. On the other hand, the article stresses that postmodernism – understood as a condition of socio-cultural reality, but also as a general context of the trends and currents of thought arising from the criticism of negatively valued modernism – sharpened and delineated intuitions and trends, as well as existing theories. This postmodern opening, which took place in anthropology at the ontological, epistemological and meta-discursive levels, covered not only the anthropological literature, but also had an impact on the rethinking of field research and on the related research practices. This was also an important stimulus for “self-reporting” in anthropology, which proved to be a significant development not only for increasing the self-awareness of researchers, but also for redefining their proposed cognition.

The article criticizes the concept of corporate citizenship, which is treated in the literature on CSR as an influential theoretical project referring to the anti-positivist paradigm of scientific knowledge. The critical arguments presented relate to difficulties in using two categories: the concept of corporate citizenship and the discourse concept borrowed from the Habermas’s theory. The counterfactual nature of the assumptions is signaled, as well as disregarding political and economic contradictions of the global world. The research goal of the article is to question the key theorem on taking over the responsibility of transnational corporations in underdeveloped countries, consisting in supporting thc development of democratic institutions and dissemination of political, social and civil rights.

The aim of the article is to verify the assumption that human understanding of the surrounding reality, including politics, is based on the natural construction of theoretical narratives. The author points out that this also applies to scientific cognition, which can be treated as a specific form of creativity of the telling mind. Representing the deductive-nomological approach, related to the humanistic interpretation, he proves that the specificity of the subject of political science research additionally strengthens the importance of narration as a tool of cognition. The arguments presented in the article are based on the presentation of epistemological assumptions, the operationalization of narration as a cognitive and analytical category, the narrative characteristics of the specificity of politics and the resulting research implications.
