The article presents a detailed analysis of language as a dispositive. Drawing a general idea from the writings of Foucault, Deleuze, Agamben and Virno, the project of the linguistic constitution of the subject is developed in distinguishing three levels of the analysis, these levels being also the three modes of the existence of language-dispositive: the sentence, the enunciation and the utterance. According to the idea presented in the article, the analysis of the language-dispositive consists in showing the basic oppositions, on which each level of the existence of the language operates, and how each of these oppositions enables the linguistic constitution of the subject – with these oppositions being: sense/reference, signiefié/signifiant and meaning/showing. The article concludes with the analysis of negation and negativity as the phenomenon introduced into the life of the human animal through language-dispositive. The distinction of the three modes in which language as a dispositive operates enables a complete presentation of how negation can be understood as a function of the process of subjectivization.

The issue of the text concerns the constitution of human identity in the context of space. The theoretical base of our disquisition is M. Eliade’s concept of inhabited space, and M. Heidegger’s concept of being-in-the-world. The former points to the social establishment of a framework for individual identity, while the latter refers to the effort of a man to create space thanks to his connections to the things at hand. In its context, the disruption of the direct relation with a man and a thing causes the risk of blocking the development of human identity. The contemporary culture has created practices of governing the private space of people’s homes, which is considered to be a part of the capitalist policy of governmentality.

Problematyka tekstu dotyczy konstytuowania się ludzkiej tożsamości w kontekście przestrzeni. Teoretyczne punkty oparcia naszego wywodu stanowią M. Eliadego koncepcja przestrzeni zasiedlonej i M. Heideggera koncepcja bycia w świecie.

In this article, the authors argue that critical anthropology must inevitably recognize its intrinsic aporia, which can be illustrated by the “blind spot” metaphor. They use the metaphor to point to a cognitive bias that can be described as the tendency to claim one’s own epistemological objectivity and axiological neutrality while ignoring the fact of being entangled in the object of anthropological critique. To illustrate the blind-spot effect they refer to the visible neoliberalization of Polish academia in the last decade. Their aim is to show how critical anthropologists (re)produce the entrepreneurial regimes, power relations, and mechanisms of subjugation that they critique. For the sake of their argument they use theories drawn from studies on governmentality, namely affect theory and the idea of the dispositive.

Referring to the category of an educational apparatus regarding Michel Foucault’s works in the text I pose a question on his non-discursive elements. Firstly, I pay attention to the authority relations in the modern and post-disciplinary society. Then, I put forward the understanding of the apparatus as developed by me, with a particular emphasis on materiality as one of its important elements. Finally, I ask a question on pedagogical knowledge/power of things.

Interactive movies are a result of a dialogue between expanded cinema and the art of new media. First examples of this phenomenon were interactive film installations. Jeffrey Shaw, Luc Courchesne and Grahame Weinbren are among the precursors of this trend. Their works are fundamental to the history of interactive movies. Creations of the first two artists were of a visual and immersive character and their artistic projects resulted in creating the idea of interactive participants in film events and the concept of ‘panoramic dispositive’ as a sphere of interactive film experiences. Weinbren created a model of interactive film narration that was available in installation mode. The artists’ interactive film installations are both a continuation of previous artistic activities in the field of cinema as well as a transgression leading

The aim of the article is to outline the foundations of critical foreign language didactics, which refers to critical and post-Foucauldian discourse analysis as well as dispositive analysis. The first part of the paper forms a reconstruction of the enmeshment of vocational language education in a number of contexts (political, migrational, and integrative). Constituting a transformative variant of language didactics and examining vocational language education, critical foreign language didactics will be perceived as a research program pertaining to the reflection on education and pedagogical activity (under the framework of critical pedagogy), teaching and learning (from the standpoint of the critical trend in general didactics), and language education and its specificity within teaching and learning particular languages (in the context of foreign language didactics). The final part of the paper will present methodological implications by indicating potential directions for – and levels of – vocational language education analysis. It will also offer an attempt at their further clarification aimed at a critical analysis of subject formation and forms of subjectification that draws from the dispositive analysis.
