The article shows the transition from the universalist idea to the idea of diversity in the practice of French theatre and dance institutions. It sets this transition in an ideological and historical context while it presents the most recent strategies of French cultural institutions and the impact of the opening up of the institutions on the contents and language of the performing arts. Citing the work of Nadia Beugré, Ana Pi, Rachid Ourmadane, Koffi Kwahulé, Dieudonné Niangouna, and Léonora Miano, among others, it shows what male and female Afroeuropean artists contribute to the socio-cultural order being built on diversity.

One of the key concepts of the MIME (Mobility and Inclusion in Multilingual Europe) project is, obviously, ‘inclusion’. However, precisely describing what the concept means is not as straightforward as it may seem. It has been used in different contexts in scientific literature. This paper attempts to contribute to the enfolding MIME-framework by critically reflecting upon the definition of ‘inclusion’. Drawing upon theories of acculturation, three core concepts in minority literature, namely ‘assimilation,’ ‘integration,’ and ‘inclusion’ will be examined, and their differences demarcated. In the light of recent developments, such as transnationalism, it will be determined which concept is best suited to analyse contemporary accommodation processes of minorities in their countries of residence. After examining the trade-off between mobility and inclusion, a central topic in all MIMErelated research, some general conclusions about ‘inclusion’ and diversitymanagement will be drawn.

The audiovisual industry in the so-called “post-Weinstein era”, proposed a number of solutions concerning women in everyday working practice. What is more, those changes can be visible in the contemporary narratives about women, presented in terms of emancipation and inclusivity, but also as an effect of the monetization of feminist trends. It results in programmatic increase of the number of female characters in the roles of protagonists but also in less stereotypical creation and diverse representations within genres. In the article, I would like to focus on the analysis of discourses related to the new diversity policy in the audiovisual industry, focusing on the analysis of the film “Wonder Woman”, dir. Patty Jenkins, often referred to as the beginning of a new, subversive feminism. In this article I’ll be using mainly British cultural study proposition of encoding and decoding to determine the relationship of selected content to the hegemonic narrative, and finally to look at and draw conclusions about the effects of program changes so far.

Przemysł audiowizualny w tzw. erze „post-Weinstein” zaproponował szereg rozwiązań, przekładający się na codzienną sytuację kobiet funkcjonujących w branży. Drugim obserwowalnym elementem jest kształt współczesnych narracji o kobietach, przedstawianych w kategoriach emancypacji, inkluzywności, ale będący też efektem monetyzacji feministycznych trendów. Wszystko to przekłada się na programowe zwiększenie obecności postaci kobiecych w rolach protagonistek, czy też uważniejsze, mniej stereotypowe ich tworzenie i różnorodne reprezentacje w ramach gatunków. Autorka zajmuje się badaniem dyskursów związanych z nową polityką różnorodności w branży audiowizualnej, skupiając się na analizie wybranego przykładu filmu – „Wonder Woman” w reż. Patty Jenkins, często określanego jako początek nowego, subersywnego feminizmu. W analizie wykorzystane zostaną ustalenia brytyjskich studiów kulturowych w zakresie kodowania i dekodowania, a celem będzie określenie stosunku wybranych treści do hegemonicznej narracji, zaś ostatecznie przyjrzenie się i wnioskowanie o dotychczasowych efektach programowych zmian.
