W artykule autor zaprezentował życie i działalność naukowo-dydaktyczną w czasie II wojny światowej Adama Wrzoska, wybitnego polskiego przedstawiciela medycyny, antropologii oraz historii nauki. Treść artykułu została oparta na nieznanych do tej pory materiałach archiwalnych, a zwłaszcza na osobistych dziennikach prowadzonych w trakcie wojny przez Wrzoska. Autor w pierwszej kolejności omówił stosunek Wrzoska do wojny i zadań, jakie powinni wypełniać przedstawiciele nauki w czasie jej trwania. Przedstawione zostało także jego zaangażowanie w organizację pracy naukowo- dydaktycznej w ramach Wydziału Lekarskiego Tajnego Uniwersytetu Ziem Zachodnich działającego od końca 1942 r. na terenie Generalnego Gubernatorstwa. W artykule mowa jest także o aprobowanej przez Wrzoska wizji Polski po zakończeniu działań wojennych.

In the article the author presented life and scientific and didactic work during the World War II of Adam Wrzosek, an outstanding Polish representative of medicine, anthropology and the historyof science. The contents of the article are based on the unknown until now archive materials, and particularlyon personal diaries kept by Wrzosek during the war. At first, the author discussed Wrzosek’sattitude to the war and tasks of representatives of science during the war. The author also presented Wrzosek’s engagement in the organization of scientific and didactic work in the Medical Department of Underground University of the Western Lands, functioning since the end of 1942 in the area of General Gouvernement. Wrzosek’s vision of Poland after the war was discussed in the article as well.
