The paper presents activities of the printing house founded in 1787 at the Jesuit College in Polotsk. The printing house became an academic printing house in 1812; it ceased to exist at the time of the dissolution of the Academy. The group of the most important printing house personnel, including the managing prefects and the employees directly associated with books – from the censors and the coadjutors to the printing house boys, is listed. Based on the existing inventory lists, their workshop, i.e. the printing equipment housed in all the printing house rooms, can be presented in detail, and their printing achievements, i.e. editions of the books stored in the warehouses and the academic bookshop, can be indicated.

Urodzony w Poznaniu 14 marca 1879 r. Leon Trzebiński z wykształcenia był drukarzem i przez całe życie pracował w zakładach typograficznych kilku miast. W 1900 r., na krótki czas, zamieszkał w Toruniu i związał się z drukarnią Sylwestra Buszczyńskiego. Pracując na Pomorzu jako redaktor odpowiedzialny podpisał numery „Gazety Toruńskiej” (od 78 z 4 kwietnia do 112 z 16 maja 1901 r.) i „Przyjaciela” (od 42 z 6 kwietnia do 59 z 16 maja 1901 r.). W kolejnych latach zatrudniony był w Bochum w Westfalii, Grudziądzu, Dortmundzie i innych niemieckich miastach. Po I wojnie światowej kierował drukarnią w Lesznie, został właścicielem zakładu typograficznego w Rawiczu, a tuż przed wybuchem II wojny światowej kupił drukarnię w Lidzie (dzisiejsza Białoruś). Po wojnie powrócił do Polski i zatrudniony był w zakładach Jeleniej Góry i Wschowy. W tym ostatnim mieście zmarł 9 grudnia 1956 r.

Leon Trzebiński, born in Poznań on March 14, 1879, was educated to be a printer and worked all his life in the typographic factories of several cities. In 1900, for a short time, he settled in Toruń and joined the printing house of Sylwester Buszczyński. Working in Pomerania as a responsible editor, he signed the issues of “Gazeta Toruńska” (from no. 78 of April 4 to no. 112 of May 16, 1901) and “Przyjaciel” (from no. 42 of April 6 to no. 59 of May 16, 1901). In the subsequent years he was employed in Bochum in Westphalia, Grudziądz, Dortmund and other German cities. After World War I, he managed the printing house in Leszno; later he became the owner of a typographic plant in Rawicz, and just before the outbreak of World War II he bought a printing house in Lida (today's Belarus). After the war, he returned to Greater Poland and was employed in the plants in Jelenia Góra and Wschowa. In the latter town he died on December 9, 1956.

Der aus Posen am 14. März 1879 gebürtige Leon Trzebiński war Drucker von Beruf und arbeitete sein ganzes Leben lang in typografischen Betrieben in mehreren Städten. 1900 zog er für kurze Zeit nach Thorn um und verband sich mit der Druckerei Sylwester Buszczyńskis. Als verantwortlicher Redakteur in Pommerellen unterzeichnete er die Nummern von „Gazeta Toruńska“ (von Nr. 78 vom 4. April bis zu Nr. 112 vom 16. Mai 1901) und „Przyjaciel“ (von Nr. 42 vom 6. April bis zu Nr. 59 vom 16. Mai 1901). In den darauffolgenden Jahren war er beschäftigt in Bochum in Westfalen, Graudenz, Dortmund und anderen deutschen Städten. Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg leitete er die Druckerei in Lissa, wurde Eigentümer eines typografischen Betriebs in Rawicz, und kurz vor dem Ausbruch des Zweiten Weltkrieges kaufte er die Druckerei in Lida (heute Weißrussland). Nach dem Krieg kehrte er nach Großpolen zurück und wurde in den Betrieben in Hirschberg und Fraustadt angestellt. In der letztgenannten Stadt verstarb er am 9. Dezember 1956.
