The article analyses the most common anxiety disorders such as: the panic disorder, the generalized anxiety disorder, phobias (especially agoraphobia and social phobia) and the obsessive-compulsive disorders which are closely related to anxiety. The paper also discusses the characteristics of the contemporary treatment methods for these disorders and the pastoral advices for helping the people who need to cope with anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders.

Artykuł omawia charakterystykę występujących najczęściej zaburzeń lękowych, takich jak: zespół lęku napadowego, zespół lęku uogólnionego, fobie (szczególnie agorafobia i fobia społeczna) oraz ściśle związanych z lękiem zaburzeń obsesyjno-kompulsywnych. Opisuje też specyfikę stosowanych współcześnie sposobów leczenia tych zaburzeń oraz wskazania duszpasterskie dotyczące pracy z osobami zmagającymi się z lękami i natręctwami.
