Sanktuarium maryjne w Piekarach Śląskich stanowi ważny ośrodek życia religijnego na Górnym Śląsku. Corocznie sanktuarium odwiedzane jest przez rzesze pątników. Na szczególną uwagę zasługują liczne pielgrzymki stanowe. W niniejszym studium ukazano pielgrzymkę stanową mężczyzn i młodzieńców do sanktuarium piekarskiego jako ważną formę duszpasterstwa. W tym względzie zaprezentowano główne tematy religijno-społeczne podejmowane przez dwóch arcybiskupów katowickich (abp. Damiana Zimonia i abp. Wiktora Skworca) w czasie corocznych pielgrzymek mężczyzn do Matki Bożej Piekarskiej.

The shrine of Our Lady in Piekary Slaskie is an important center of religious life in Upper Silesia. Every year the sanctuary is visited by crowds of pilgrims. Noteworthy are the numerous pilgrimages of various groups of people. This study presents the phenomenon of the pilgrimage of men and young men to the shrine of Piekary Slaskie as an important form of pastoral care. In this regard, the article presents the main religious and social themes taken up by the two archbishops of Katowice (Archbishop Damian Zimoń and Archbishop Wiktor Skworc) during the annual pilgrimages of men to the Shrine of Piekary.
