Celem artykułu jest wskazanie kierunku i siły zmian demograficznych oraz wybranych charakterystyk ekonomicznych zachodzących w Polsce, konstrukcja mierników syntetycznych oraz ich prognoz, a także sporządzenie rankingu województw i porównanie różnych metod prognozowania mierników syntetycznych. Artykuł składa się z dwóch części. Pierwsza z nich dotyczy metod badawczych, zaś druga część to analiza empiryczna wybranych charakterystyk demograficznych i ekonomicznych, konstrukcja mierników syntetycznych z uwzględnieniem dynamiki zmiennych oraz wnioski.

The aim of the paper is to analyze the dynamic demographic and economic changes that are observed in Poland from 2005 to 2014. General tendencies in Polish population age structure were shown. Besides, some dependencesbetween demographic variables and chosen economic indicators were presented. By means of selected dynamic multivariate comparative analysis tools the regions of Poland were characterized and compared.
