Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie obowiązujących procedur pokonywania przeszkód wodnych w świetle aktualnie obowiązujących dokumentów normatywnych. Artykuł porusza problematykę urządzenia przepraw w podstawowych działaniach taktycznych, a także opisuje organizację odcinka przeprawy (forsowania) z uwzględnieniem jego głównych elementów. Ponadto charakteryzuje zasadnicze elementy kierowania i dowodzenia występujące na odcinku przeprawy.

The aim of the article is to present existing procedures of crossing water obstacles in the light of currently binding normative documents. The article addresses the issue of crossings' organization during basic tactical activities and describes setting of a crossing (breaching) section with its main elements taken into consideration. Moreover, primary components of command and control of a crossing section have been characterized in the article.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie koncepcji użycia wojsk inżynieryjnych w działaniach bojowych na przełomie lat 70. i 80. XX w. na podstawie publikacji zawartych w czasopiśmie Myśl Wojskowa o klauzuli „tajne”. W publikacji zostały zawarte główne zadania wojsk inżynieryjnych w podstawowych działaniach taktycznych, w tym szczególnie w ramach pokonywania przeszkód wodnych, czy zakładania zapór minowych w tamtym okresie. Przeanalizowano również potrzeby wojsk inżynieryjnych tamtego okresu oraz pokazano podstawowe zasady użycia tego rodzaju wojsk w aspekcie wykonywania zadań inżynieryjnych. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na szerokie wykorzystanie wojsk inżynieryjnych w tamtym okresie, które były w dużej mierze odpowiedzialne za wspieranie pododdziałów walczących, w tym szczególnie pododdziałów pancernych i zmechanizowanych.

The purpose of this paper is to present the concepts of deploying engineer troops in military operations in the late 1970s and early 1980s, on the basis of the publications contained in the classified Mysl Wojskowa journal. The publications concerned the main tasks of engineer troops in basic tactical operations, including in particular those consisting in crossing water obstacles or establishing barrier minefields in that period. The article analyses also the needs of engineer troops in the discussed period and describes the basic principles of using this type of arms for performing engineering tasks. Furthermore, the attention is drawn to the wide use of engineer troops in that period, which were responsible, to a considerable extent, for providing support for the fighting elements, including in particular armoured and mechanised units.

Artykuł ukazuje sposoby użycia batalionów Obrony Narodowej w systemie osłony strategicznej, na przykładzie działania pododdziałów czterech batalionów ON prowadzonych w składzie Wielkopolskiej Brygady Kawalerii w dniach 1–4 września 1939 r. Optymalne użycie tych batalionów było możliwe dzięki wiedzy i doświadczeniu dowódcy brygady, który rozumiał specyfikę tego rodzaju wojsk oraz miał świadomość ich ograniczeń. Jednocześnie potrafił podkreślić ich atuty, szczególnie znajomość terenu, a także zwiększyć ich możliwości, wykorzystując pojazdy mechaniczne z zasobów miejscowych. Pododdziały ON ochraniały obiekty ważne dla utrzymania dróg wewnątrz ugrupowania bojowego brygady, przede wszystkim mosty, a także obiekty infrastruktury kolejowej. Patrolowały miejscowości, jak i teren wokół nich, wpływając dodatnio na poczucie bezpieczeństwa miejscowej ludności. Odegrały bardzo dużą rolę w zwalczaniu niemieckich grup dywersyjno-rozpoznawczych. Odciążając w ten sposób oddziały wojsk operacyjnych.

The article presents ways of using the Territorial Army battalions within strategic covering system based on the operations of four battalions TA under command and control of Wielkopolska Cavalry Brigade on September 1–4, 1939. The optimal use of these battalions was possible thanks to the knowledge and experience of the brigade commander, who understood the specifics of such troops and was aware of their limitations. At the same time he was able to exploit their strengths, first and foremost knowledge of the area of operation, and to increase their capabilities by using local vehicles. TA companies and platoons protected objectives important for maintaining the internal lines of the brigade communication, primarily bridges, as well as railway infrastructure. Patrolled towns and areas in the vicinity of them, positively affecting the sense of security of the local population. They played a very important role in the counteracting against German diversionary-reconnaissance groups. In this way they relieved regular army troops.
