The paper presents contemporary approach to the privacy protection in the European Union and Poland. It discusses the concept of citizens’ privacy protection in the scope of e-services. The paper includes results of the survey on the approach to privacy of people using Internet portals. In summary, the author provides recommendations and conclusions about the direction of the development of public e-services in reference to current trends and patterns in citizens’ private lives.

W opracowaniu przedstawiono aktualne podejście do ochrony prywatności w Unii Europejskiej i w Polsce. Omówiono koncepcję ochrony prywatności obywateli w zakresie świadczenia e-usług. Następnie zaprezentowano wyniki badania ankietowego dotyczącego podejścia do prywatności osób korzystających z portali internetowych. W podsumowaniu zawarto wnioski dotyczące kierunków rozwoju e-usług publicznych w odniesieniu do obecnych trendów i wzorców zachowań w życiu prywatnym obywateli.
