Rozwój gospodarczy to proces, który daje się opisać zarówno w kontekście koncepcji ewolucjonistycznych, modernizacyjnych, jak i dialektycznych. Dostarczają one kluczowych dla określenia semantyki procesu rozwojowego pojęć. Rola społeczna, stadium rozwoju i konflikt wartości – to terminy, które czynią z rozwoju „kategorię środka”. Rozwój, jako tego typu kategoria środka, staje się procesem wkomponowanym w przestrzeń relacji międzyludzkiej. Z jednej strony, funduje się on na aktywnościach jednostek, z drugiej – znajduje ograniczenie w systemowych rygorach. Jest splotem żywiołowości i uregulowania oraz mieszanką komponentów aksjologicznych i pragmatycznych. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie rozwoju jako kategorii „środka”, wraz z identyfikacją właściwego dlań narzędzia diagnostycznego. Narzędziem tym jest pojęcie kultury rozwoju gospodarczego, której poszczególne warstwy (materialna, socjetalna, symboliczna) pozwolą opisać rozwój jako proces wielowymiarowy i osadzony w przestrzeni relacji międzyludzkich.

Economic development is a process that can be described in the context of evolutionary, modernisation, and dialectical concepts, as such concepts provide key notions necessary to define the semantics of such development. Social roles, stages of growth, and conflict of values – these are all notions that make development a “central category”. Growth, or development, as a central category, becomes an interpersonal process. On the one hand, it is based on individual activities, and on the other, it is subject to systemic restrictions. It is a combination of spontaneity and order, and has both axiological and pragmatic components. The goal of this paper is to present development as a central category, and to identify the appropriate diagnostic tool for this purpose. This tool is the notion of economic development standards, whose individual levels (financial, social, and symbolic) make it possible to describe growth as a multifaceted and interpersonal process.
