The ideas of national as well as state education are characteristic achievement of Polish pedagogical thought from the period of the Second Polish Republic. During the Second Polish Republic, in all schools, the idea of this education was implemented. Actions that were undertaken, taught children and young people about self-management, respect for the achievements of Polish culture, respect for their country and the Polish state and what is important, they shaped attitudes of patriotism. It was also crucial that during this process, teachers gave personal examples to students on how to behave and they presented standards and values compliant with the ideas of national and state education. Strict examination on that education was taken later on by those young people as well as teachers during the tragic period of German and Russian occupation.

Idee wychowania zarówno narodowego jak i państwowego są charakterystycznym dorobkiem polskiej myśli pedagogicznej okresu II Rzeczypospolitej. W II Rzeczypospolitej we wszystkich typach szkół realizowana była idea tego wychowania. Podejmowane w jego trakcie działania uczyły dzieci i młodzież samorządności, szacunku dla dorobku polskiej kultury, poszanowania własnego kraju i polskiej państwowości, a co ważne kształtowały postawy patriotyzmu. Istotne również było i to, że w trakcie tego procesu nauczyciele dawali uczniom osobisty przykład postępowania oraz prezentowali wzorce oraz wartości zgodne ideałami wychowania narodowego i państwowego. Surowy egzamin z tego wychowania młodzież, a także nauczyciele zdawali później w tragicznym okresie niemieckiej i sowieckiej okupacji.
