The research paper includes information about the needs and abilities of elementary children in connection with foreign language learning. The paper includes information about incorporating foreign languages into integrated elementary education curriculum. The specific age of elementary children which is connected with the specific level of development needs to be taken to account when we talk about the specific educational tasks such as learning foreign languages. The paper describes the most important conditions of foreign language teaching, which are necessary for successful teaching elementary children.

W niniejszym artykule omówiono problematykę potrzeb i możliwości dziecka w młodszym wieku szkolnym w odniesieniu do kształcenia językowego. Autorka zaprezentowała metodyczną koncepcję kształcenia zintegrowanego w klasach I–III jako skuteczną drogę do podniesienia efektywności kształcenia językowego uczniów. W zakończeniu omówiono wnioski z postępowania badawczego, dowodzące słuszności wyboru młodszego wieku szkolnego do rozpoczynania nauki języków obcych.
