W artykule wyjaśniam znaczenie określenia „aktywność” oraz wskazuję na jej pozytywne aspekty w życiu seniorów, interpretuję współczesne pojęcie czasu. Analizuję wyniki badań dotyczące aktywności edukacyjnej i/lub zawodowej osób, których podstawowym źródłem egzystencji było świadczenie emerytalne lub rentowe. Opisuję między innymi rodzaje i formy przejawianej przez seniorów aktywności edukacyjnej i zawodowej. Ujawniam motywy, które inspirowały seniorów do podejmowania wysiłku edukacyjnego czy pracy zarobkowej. Wskazuję na zmienne, które wyróżniają seniorów pod względem aktywności edukacyjnej i zawodowej.

In the article I explain the meaning of term „activity” and point out to its positive aspects in seniors’ lives, I interpret a modern notion of time. I analyze the results of research on educational and/or professional activity of people whose main source of living was a retirement or pension allowance. Among others, I describe types and forms of educational and professional activity of seniors. I reveal the motives which inspired the seniors to undertake educational effort or gainful employment. I indicate the variables which differentiate seniors in terms of educational and professional activity.
