The article constitutes an analysis of the gas relationship between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Poland in terms of the current geopolitical and economic determinants affecting the nature of the bilateral cooperation in the scope of energy policy. The paper shows the existence of a dependence, as well as the characteristics of the natural gas sector and energy policy of the Russian Federation in relation to Poland and also answers the question about the reason for such actions as are taken. The aim of the work is also the analysis of the natural gas sector of the Republic of Poland and internal conditions in Poland, which influence the foreign policy of Russia in the export of natural gas.

W artykule przedstawiono strukturę paliwową majątku wytwórczego energetyki zawodowej, ze wskazaniem dynamiki zmian oraz porównaniem międzynarodowym – na poziomie unijnym, także dynamikę rozwoju odnawialnych źródeł energii w Polsce. Wskazano na trendy i perspektywy związane z powstawaniem nowych instalacji energetycznych. Omówiono najważniejsze uwarunkowania wynikające z wpływu energetyki wiatrowej na eksploatację elektrowni węglowych w Polsce. Dokonano zestawienia trendów z podstawowymi zamierzeniami wynikającymi z dotychczas obowiązującej Polityki Energetycznej Polski.

The fuel structure of generating assets of utility power industry in Poland, with an indication of the dynamics of change and international comparisons – at EU level is presented; also the dynamics of the development of renewable energy sources. The trends and prospects for the emergence of new power plants are pointed. Important considerations arising from the impact of wind power for the operation of coal-fired power plants in Poland are discussed. The trends and basic intentions arising from the current Energy Policy of Poland are summarized.
