Tekst jest próbą wskazania wzajemnych zależności pomiędzy dwoma gatunkami literatury dokumentu osobistego – esejem i autobiografią, oraz dwiema kategoriami wewnątrz i ponadgatunkowymi – eseistycznością i autobiograficznością, możliwymi do uchwycenia w Widzeniu bliskim i dalekim Zofii Nałkowskiej. W antologii, składającej się z kilkudziesięciu zróżnicowanych gatunkowo tekstów, można zauważyć nakładanie się na siebie wymienionych cech, powodowane przez nie przekształcenia oraz ich łączenie się z twórczością powieściową i diarystyczną autorki. Zbiór tekstów, obejmujących pół wieku, zawierający zarówno teksty wspomnieniowe, podróżne, recenzje, odczytany z uwzględnieniem perspektywy krytycznofeministycznej, staje się cennym ogniwem historii polskiej eseistyki kobiet.

The text indicates the relations between two genres of literature of personal document – an essay and autobiography, and two categories within and beyond genres – “essayism” and autobiographical. They can be captured in Widzenie bliskie i dalekie (The vision nearby and distant) written by Zofia Nałkowska. In anthology, where several genre-rich texts were put together, one can notice the superimposing of the above-mentioned features, the transformations they made and their connection with the author’s novels and diaristic writing. The collection of texts covering half a century, encompassing memoirs, travel writings, reviews, read out with regard to the feminist perspective, becomes one of the most valuable item in the history of Polish essay written by women.
