In the article there is a – hermeneutically inspired – reinterpretation of a seminar as a conversatorium. The fundamental argument is that the very form of university education contains a dialectic of translation and reading. But, none of them are possible without listening and the ability to transform what is heard into expressed word. However, the process of the very transformation is actually the translation. At first, the whole idea is illustrated by an etymological preliminary research and some hermeneutic, esp. Gadamerian, inspirations. They lead, then, to a topic of conversatorium to be analysed in the context of translation and hermeneutic dialectics comprehended as a searching for word. Finally, some reflections on education as translation are presented.

On the rhetorical power of combining religious and political motives in the analogies and examples used in the sermons inaugurating the parliaments of the pre-partition era The subject of the article are sermons delivered during the inauguration of the Polish Sejms of the pre-partition era. The content and selection of the linguistic means used in these speeches are known from the reports contained in the parliamentary diaries, especially those created in the 18th century. Preachers combined political and religious threads using the form of analogy and example. The former are always aimed at connecting the spheres of the sacred and the profane. Clergy refer to the truths of faith or ethical concepts and categories as well as to the liturgical calendar, and also use polysemy. In turn, the sources of examples are biblical characters and events and the saints of the Catholic Church.

The ecclesiology of the Second Vatican Council constitutes invariably a benchmark for every authentic reflection regarding the Church, its mission and the ways of its shaping in perspective of historic development. The teachings of the recent popes draw our attention to the need of referring the Church to Christ as its paradigm. To make this requirement possible to fulfil it is necessary to derive from the teachings of the Second Vatican Council, inquiring how and in what aspects its teaching directs the Church towards the pattern which Jesus Christ defines himself personally. This article tries to provide an answer to this question pointing out, in the first place, the beginning of the Church in Jesus Christ. Thus, in this context it tries to determine in what way and to what extent He is the principle of life of the Church and the example for it. The emphasis on the aspect of individual and social anthropology which can be found in the teachings of the Council is the fulfilment of the strictly ecclesiological reflection. This last issue concentrates on the stressing of the idea of Christ being the anthropological example, which should be included by the Church in the fulfilment of its salutary mission.

Eklezjologia II Soboru Watykańskiego stanowi niezmiennie punkt odniesienia dla każdej autentycznej refleksji o Kościele, o jego misji oraz o sposobach jego kształtowania w perspektywie rozwoju historycznego. Nauczanie ostatnich papieży zwraca uwagę na potrzebę odniesienia Kościoła do Chrystusa jako jego wzoru. Aby to zalecenie móc wypełnić, konieczne jest sięgnięcie do nauczania II Soboru Watykańskiego, pytając się, w jaki sposób i w jakich aspektach jego nauczanie ukierunkowuje Kościół na jego wzór, który osobowo określa sam Jezus Chrystus. Niniejszy artykuł stara się udzielić odpowiedzi na to pytanie, zwracając najpierw uwagę na początek Kościoła w Jezusie Chrystusie, aby na tym tle określić, w jaki sposób i w jakim zakresie treściowym jest On zasadą życia Kościoła i jego wzorem. Dopełnieniem refleksji ściśle eklezjologicznej jest zwrócenie uwagi na aspekty antropologii indywidualnej i społecznej, którą znajdujemy w nauczaniu soborowym. W tej ostatniej kwestii chodzi o wskazanie na wzorczość antropologiczną Chrystusa, którą powinien uwzględniać Kościół w  pełnieniu swojej misji zbawczej.

In dictionaries, exemplification serves to illustrate the use of headwords. This article attempts to contribute to the elaboration and specification of the general exemplification principles, as demonstrated on the material of the manuscript of The Academic Dictionary of Contemporary Czech. It deals with the adequate length of the exemplification as a whole and the length of individual examples. It also devotes attention to content-related aspects, with emphasis on the socially sensitive topic of gender. Examples should not have controversial content, otherwise the reader’s attention can go off in an unwanted direction. They should not insult or hurt anybody, yet typical examples cannot be entirely ignored either, as the dictionary must not be censored.

La dimostrazione dell'idoneita della came all'esistenza incorruttibile ed eterna costituisce uno dei cardini della difesa del dogma della risurrezione tradizionalmente inteso. L’obiettivo dell'articolo (II corpo umano e l’immortalita) e di presentare l’argomentazione svolta in favore di essa da Metodio di Olimpo nel De resurrectione II 19-25 (GCS 27, 371-382). L’autore rievoca alcuni esempi presi dal mondo della natura (botanico, zoologico, astronomico), dal campo artistico e dalia storia biblica non solo per ilłustrare la possibile longevita dei corpi nell'esistenza terrena, ma anche per provare che Dio, plasmatore del corpo, ha destinato l’uomo all'immortalita. Applicare il principio dell'onnipotenza divina alla risurrezione della carne non costituisce per Metodio una scappatoia insensata, ma un tentativo di assumere, entro i confini di una razionalita alimentata dai dati della fede cristiana, un elemento che, seppur comprensibile per la ragione, tuttavia la supera.

The Sejm of the Republic of Poland named Jadwiga Zamoyska (1831–1923) one of the patrons of 2023. The centenary of her death falls in November of this year. Among the many activities for which she is admired and appreciated, the closest and most important to her was educating the youth. Patronage of the Year is an initiative that is intended to honor, but also to protect from oblivion, people, events, and ideas that are important to Poland and Poles. This text responds to this objective. The aim of the article is to indicate the universal values of Jadwiga Zamoyska’s educational thought. An analytical-synthetic method was used. The basic source is the work titled About Upbringing, in which Jadwiga Zamoyska presented a program for Catholic upbringing and education. The value of integral human development, obedience, role model, work, and virtue in upbringing was reflected upon. Universal values are beyond differences of time and mindset. After all, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland indicated the life of Jadwiga Zamoyska as an example to all Poles, and not to a specific group. It is interesting to wonder whether there is anything current and valuable in this message for humans made richer by over hundred years of worldwide research and experiments.

Sejm Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej wskazał wśród patronów roku 2023 Jadwigę Zamoyską (1831–1923), której setna rocznica śmierci przypada w listopadzie tego roku. Spośród wielu zadań, za które jest podziwiana i ceniona, najbliższe i najważniejsze było dla niej wychowanie młodego pokolenia. Patronat roku to inicjatywa, która ma uhonorować, ale też uchronić od zapomnienia osoby, wydarzenia, idee ważne dla Polski i Polaków. Treść artykułu wpisuje się w to zamierzenie. Celem artykułu jest wskazanie uniwersalnych wartości myśli wychowawczej Jadwigi Zamoyskiej. Posłużono się metodą analityczno-syntetyczną. Podstawowe źródło stanowi praca pt. O wychowaniu, w której Jadwiga Zamoyska przedstawiła program wychowania i kształcenia katolickiego. Refleksji poddano wartość integralnego rozwoju człowieka, posłuszeństwa, wzoru, pracy oraz cnoty w wychowaniu. Wartości uniwersalne to takie, które są „ponad” różnicami czasowymi i światopoglądowymi. Sejm Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej wskazał postać i życie Jadwigi Zamoyskiej jako wzór wszystkim Polakom, a nie określonej grupie. Interesujące, czy jest coś aktualnego i wartościowego w tym przekazie dla człowieka bogatszego o ponad sto lat badań naukowych i doświadczeń światowych.
