The aim of this article is to analyze polemics published in the interwar period in “Wiadomości Literackie” magazine and initialized by the debut of Maria Kuncewiczowa. This polemics gave rise to discussion on the style of female writing in general. Criticism focused on the language spoken by writers trying to tell their own private or even intimate stories ruled out from the dominant narrative created by the male authors.

The aim of this paper is to analyze the transformation of the narrative means and devices of the traditional detective novel used for investigating the mystery of woman’s destiny in the O. Zabuzhko’s novel The Museum of Abandoned Secrets. Detective themes in the narrative of this novel are generally recognized in the discourse of this literary work. An over-rational approach to the detective investigation in the novel is closely related to several factors, including the author’s concern with the problems of modern Ukrainian’s national identity. The work analyzed is a postcolonial novel, and this is embodied in all aspects of its content. Mystery of womanhood, heroes’ love relationships, and investigation of mysterious deaths - all this problems are marked by postcolonial perspective. Analysing peculiarities of author’s transformation of tools of the traditional detective narration about ”investigation” of the three heroines’ mysteries we find out several special features. First, the purpose of Daryna’s investigation is “to get ‘story’ out of Vlada’s life”. Secondly the place of insight, enlightenment in Daryna’s “detective” activity is also very specific. Unlike the traditional detective novel, in 0. Zabuzhko’s one the main “tool” of getting an answer is intuitive enlightenment. Thirdly, Adrian’s character is important not only in the explication of the love line of the novel, but also in “investigative” narrative. Adrian is an interpreter of spiritual movements and emotional states of hers.

The analysis of women’s memoirs, which unite peculiarly the history and feelings, complete the image of an epoch, written by men-politicians, men-historians and writers, and is of great scientific interest. Women’s nature, a priori assuming the sacralization of feelings as only one possible prism of the reception of a fact, so vividly embodied in a confessional genre, defines a “special reading” of the history in the first Russian women’s memoirs Self-made Notes of Natalie Dolgoroukaya 1767). “Feminine writing” interprets life as a love story. This feeling that has become a synonym of life, allowed the memoirist to see beyond the outer sings of an epoch some eternal truths both national, predefined by the mental nature of Russians, and universal, proving that a feminine view succumbing a masculine one in the historically accurate description of the facts, appears as deeper in the intuitive, sensual comprehension of timeless truths that provide a clue to the code of the epoch. So, feelings apparently obscuring the history expand the score of its vision by personal emotions, enriching the image of facts constituting a historical event.
