The analysis of the bibliographic production issued by specialized workplaces and libraries in last decade evaluates the field, personal and regional inventories published in book, journal or electronic form. It acquaints the reader with conferences devoted to the contemporary problems of bibliography. It describes the content and method of processing bibliographic inventories of history, literature and other fields of the social sciences, which have been published since 2009 in the Czech lands.

Field bibliographies have a documentary function for their own discipline and thus constitute a basic workshop for researchers and scientists, and an information source for educators, students and practitioners. They are a valuable source for bibliometric and scientometric research because of their relatively high completeness, critical selection of materials, professional indexing of document contents, and professionally prepared unified sets of metadata of registered documents. It is assumed that their bibliometric and scientometric potential increases due to the transfer of traditional (printed) bibliographic lists to the digital environment. The aim of the study was to determine the usefulness of Polish bibliographies (and other specialized databases that perform their functions) as a source of data for bibliometric and scientometric literature analyses. The study covered a dozen or so field bibliographies and field databases documenting the Polish scientific achievements. The analysis of the content of available bibliographies and field bibliographic databases allowed for collecting empirical data and information necessary for accomplishing the research objectives. The research made it possible to identify the shortcomings of electronic versions of bibliographies and field databases and to indicate the desired features of these tools, which are important primarily from the perspective of biblio- and scientometric research. Many of these parameters also increase the information value of bibliographic databases and may contribute to the status improvement of the bibliography as an important element of field information systems.

Bibliografie dziedzinowe pełnią funkcje dokumentacyjne wobec własnej dyscypliny i tym samym stanowią podstawowy warsztat pracy dla badaczy, naukowców, ale też źródło informacji dla dydaktyków, studentów i praktyków. Potencjalnie – ze względu na stosunkowo wysoką kompletność, krytyczny dobór materiałów, profesjonalne indeksowanie treści dokumentów, fachowo przygotowany ujednolicony zestaw metadanych rejestrowanych dokumentów – stanowią wartościowe źródło dla badań biblio- i naukometrycznych. Przyjmuje się, że ich potencjał biblio- i naukometryczny wzrasta dzięki przeniesieniu tradycyjnych (drukowanych) spisów bibliograficznych w środowisko cyfrowe. Przeprowadzone badanie miało na celu określenie przydatności polskich bibliografii dziedzinowych (i innych dziedzinowych baz danych, które pełnią ich funkcje) jako źródła danych do analiz biblio- i naukometrycznych piśmiennictwa. Eksploracją objęto kilkanaście bibliografii dziedzinowych i dziedzinowych baz danych dokumentujących polski dorobek naukowy. Analiza zawartości dostępnych bibliografii i dziedzinowych bibliograficznych baz danych pozwoliła na zebranie danych empirycznych i informacji niezbędnych do realizacji przyjętych celów badania. Badanie pozwoliło na identyfikację niedociągnięć elektronicznych wersji bibliografii dziedzinowych i dziedzinowych baz danych oraz wskazanie pożądanych cech tych narzędzi, ważnych przede wszystkim z perspektywy badań biblio- i naukometrycznych. Wiele z tych parametrów podnosi również wartość informacyjną baz bibliograficznych i może przyczynić się do nobilitacji bibliografii jako ważnego elementu systemów informacji dziedzinowej.
