Bohaterowie filmów animowanych prezentują różnorodne postawy, poglądy i zagadnienia, w tym problemy o charakterze społecznym. Wielu animowanych bohaterów ukazywanych jest jako nośniki aprobowanych społecznie cech charakteru, posiadających ważną do spełnienia misję bądź walczących o wyższe dobro. Należy podkreślić, że bohater filmowy, jako kluczowy składnik opowiadania filmowego, stanowi centrum kierowania uwagi przez widza. Jego całościowy odbiór wraz z niesionymi przezeń wartościami, normami oraz zasadami okazuje się skutecznym narzędziem pracy podczas prowadzonych czynności edukacyjnych, wychowawczych, a także terapeutycznych. Dzięki podjęciu rozważań dotyczących społecznego wymiaru działań na przykładzie poszczególnych animowanych bohaterów możliwe jest dostrzeżenie powagi ukazywanych zagadnień we wciąż niedocenianych, niesłusznie uznawanych za „dziecinne” filmach animowanych. Rozwinięcie niniejszego tematu jest efektem samodzielnie przeprowadzonych badań nad przesłaniem animowanych dzieł o charakterze społecznym.

Animated film characters represent various attitudes, points of view and issues, including social problems. Many of them are shown as carriers of socially approved character traits, who have an important mission or fight for the greater good. It must be emphasised that a film hero, as the key element of the film plot is the centre of attention for a viewer. The holistic reception, including all the values, norms and principles, proves to be an effective tool during educational and therapeutic work. Thanks to considerations into the social dimension of activities, based on the example of particular characters, it is possible to appreciate in animated films the significance of the issues which are still unnoticed and regarded as childish. The development of this topic is the result of the researcher’s own research into the social message of animated works.

Sztuka filmowa ma ogromny potencjał oddziaływania na widza. Dzięki temu, że film jest bardzo mocno zakorzeniony w kulturze, a kontakt z nim nie jest utrudniony, możliwości jego wykorzystania w ramach różnorodnych działań są ogromne. Potencjał ten wykorzystuje filmoterapia, będąca rodzajem arteterapii. Sposób, w jaki sztuka filmowa stosowana jest w pracy z człowiekiem, określa wiele teorii psychologicznych, pedagogicznych, socjologicznych oraz filmoznawczych. Jedną z nich jest teoria twórczości. Kreatywne podejście do odbioru filmu, jego tworzenia oraz wykorzystywania w celu innym niż rozrywkowym stanowi niecodzienny sposób rozumienia istoty sztuki filmowej. Świadczy również o niezwykłych właściwościach tego audiowizualnego rodzaju sztuki, które mogą znaleźć zastosowanie w wielu obszarach działalności społecznej.

The art of film has great potential to influence the viewer. Thanks to the fact that the film is very deeply rooted in culture and that contact with it is not difficult, the possibilities of using it in various activities are enormous. This potential is exploited by film therapy, a kind of art therapy. The way the art of film is applied to work with a human being is determined by many psychological, pedagogical, sociological, or film studies theories. One of them is the theory of creativity. The creative approach to the reception of a film, its creation and its use for purposes other than entertainment is an unusual way of thinking about the essence of film art. It also shows the extraordinary qualities of this audiovisual type of art, which can be used in many areas of social activity.

Współcześni bohaterowie filmów animowanych znacznie różnią się od swoich poprzedników pod względem charakteru oraz prezentowanych postaw. Nowe typy bohaterów, będące ważnym składnikiem opowiadania filmowego, oddziałują na odbiorcę nie tylko pod względem emocjonalnym. Wykreowane, złożone pod względem charakterologicznym postaci posiadają ogromny poten-cjał wpływu poznawczego. Dzięki poruszanym problemom bliskim odbiorcom możliwe jest zidentyfikowanie się z percypowanymi bohaterami, zasymilowanie z ich sytuacją lub uruchomienie innych mechanizmów oddziaływania. Postaci współczesnych filmów animowanych nie są już prostymi podmiotami opisanymi za pomocą głównego przymiotu lub alegorycznego odniesienia. Ważnym aspek-tem jest odchodzenie od prezentacji względnie stałej osobowości na rzecz prze-mian zachowania i wyznawanych wartości. Fakt ten stwarza doskonałą okazję do wykorzystania poszczególnych animowanych dzieł filmowych w ramach działań wychowawczych i terapeutycznych.

Contemporary heroes of animated films are significantly different from their predecessors in terms of their characteristics and in relation to the manifested attitudes. New types of protagonists, being an important component of a film story, affect the recipient not only in terms of emotions. The created heroes, complex in terms of character, have a huge potential for cognitive influ-ence. Thanks to the nature of the addressed problems that are close to viewers, it is possible for them to identify themselves with the watched heroes, assimilate with their situation or induce other mechanisms of influence. The characters of contemporary animated films are no longer simple subject entities determined by the main attribute or an allegorical reference. An important aspect is the departure from the presentation of a relatively constant personality in favour of the changes in behaviour and professed values. This fact creates an excellent opportunity to use animated motion picture works as part of educational and therapeutic activities.
