Today, most interventions supporting the construction of active lives have as their sole final purpose helping people enter the job market and manage their employability and careers. The seriousness of the multidimensional crisis that has been growing for several decades now urges redirecting these interventions to a different purpose: that of contributing to the achievement of the objectives and goals defined by the major international organisations (and the experts in these matters) in order to cope with this crisis. Developing these new interventions is premised on grounding them in a transformed conceptual framework, where the concepts of the ‘form of life’ (Spranger, Agamben) and ‘active life’ (Arendt) hold the central place and are articulated with the notion of ‘capability’ (Sen). The ultimate purpose of this new support for the construction of actives life is to enable individuals, groups and communities to develop and mobilise the necessary capabilities for designing and implementing the forms of active life that are both economically and ecologically sustainable and humanely fair.

Większość wdrażanych obecnie działań wspierających jednostki w konstruowaniu aktywnego życia ma na celu li tylko pomóc im wejść na rynek pracy, wykazać się zatrudnialnością i zarządzać własną karierą. Jednakże w obliczu powagi wielowymiarowego, narastającego przez dziesięciolecia kryzysu działania te należy nakierować na inny priorytet tak, by przyczyniały się one również do osiągnięcia krótko i długofalowych celów zdefiniowanych przez najważniejsze organizacje międzynarodowe (oraz ekspertów w tej dziedzinie) w ramach prób opanowania tego kryzysu. Wypracowując takie nowe działania, musimy osadzić je na przedefiniowanych fundamentach koncepcyjnych, wspartych przede wszystkim na pojęciach „forma życia” (Spranger, Agamben) i „życie aktywne” (Arendt) w połączeniu z koncepcją „zdolności” (Sen). Ostatecznym celem tak przekształconych działań wspierających konstruowanie aktywnego życia jest umożliwianie jednostkom, grupom i społecznościom rozwoju i aktywowania zdolności niezbędnych, aby projektować i realizować ekonomicznie i ekologicznie zrównoważone, a także sprawiedliwe, formy aktywnego życia.

Niniejszy artykuł dotyczy wybranych tekstów teoretyczno-literackich, autobiograficznych i literackich Lou Andreas-Salomé i ukazuje, że zarówno spuścizna ideowa, jak i filozofia życiowa autorki krystalizowała się w przestrzeni pomiędzy koncepcjami pobożności postrzeganymi dzisiaj jako archaiczne oraz wczesno-modernistycznymi dążeniami w duchu Lebensreformbewegung (ruchu reformy życia). Przedmiotem refleksji są nie tylko eseje teoretyczno-religijne pióra Lou Andreas-Salomé, ale także listy i zapiski autobiograficzne, w oparciu o które nakreślony został obraz Boga stworzony przez pisarkę, jak i jej własna, wynikająca z woli samostanowienia, forma życia. W artykule wskazano na swoisty ruch między „starą“ ideą Boga, a nową metafizyczną ideą „życia“, charakterystyczny zarówno dla literatury, jak i dla kierunku myślenia Lebensreformbewegung. Przedmiotem dalszych rozważań jest opowiadanie pt. Ródinka (1923) Andreas-Salomé odczytywane jako próba przekucia teoretycznej refleksji pisarki na literacką realizację. Analiza pokazuje, w jaki sposób zderzają się ze sobą wzajemnie przeciwstawne wyobrażenia autorki o idealnej pobożności oraz wątki wywodzące się z ruchu reformy życia. Podjęty zostaje również problem narracyjnego modelowania opisanych przez pisarkę problemów.

The paper deals with selected religious theoretical, autobiographic, and literary texts by Lou Andreas-Salomé and proposes that their ideological content, as well as the author’s biography, were shaped by the tension between the concepts of piety viewed nowadays as archaic, and the early modernist life-reform movement (Lebensreformbewegung). Lou Andreas-Salomé‘s religious theoretical essays, but also her letters and autobiographic notes are taken into consideration to trace the origin of the author’s image of God and her autonomously and free-willingly constructed form of life. The paper presents the shift from the ‘old’ prominence of God and the new metaphysical prominence of ‘Life’, characteristic both for the literature and for the ideology of Lebensreformbewegung. Subsequently, the paper focuses on Andreas-Salomé‘s short story Ródinka. Russsische Erinnerung (1923), viewed as a literary embodiment of her theoretical reflections, in which the ideas of piety and life reform clash. It is also shown to what extent these thematic motifs are narratologically founded by the author.

Der vorliegende Beitrag befasst sich mit ausgewählten religionstheoretischen, autobiographischen und literarischen Texten von Lou Andreas-Salomé und veranschaulicht, dass das darin vertretene Gedankengut, aber auch die Lebensführung der Autorin, im Spannungsfeld zwischen heutzutage als archaisch geltenden Frömmigkeitskonzepten und frühmodernen Lebensreformbestrebungen entstanden. Lou Andreas-Salomés religionstheoretische Essays, aber auch Briefe und autobiographische Aufzeichnungen werden herangezogen, um ihr Gottesbild und gleichsam ihre selbstbestimmte und eigenwillige Lebensform nachzuzeichnen. Es wird eine Bewegung zwischen der ‚alten‘ Größe Gott und der neuen metaphysischen Größe des ‚Lebens‘ aufgezeigt, die kennzeichnend ist für die Literatur und das Denken der Lebensreformbewegung. In einem weiteren Schritt wird Andreas-Salomés Erzählung Ródinka. Russsische Erinnerung von 1923 als die literarische Realisation ihrer theoretischen Reflexionen in den Blick genommen und es wird nachvollzogen, wie darin Frömmigkeitsideale und Lebensreformgedanken aufeinanderprallen. Es wird aufgezeigt, inwiefern die Autorin diese thematischen Bewegungen in ihrer Erzählung auch narratologisch fundiert.
